no reading.
and anyone know what sensor that is cant find connection cant stray too far anyways.

V 10-22-2012 09:15 PM

its most likely coolant temp or an egr/A.I.R connector

WSex 10-22-2012 09:17 PM

thanks paul ill look for i in the am

NastyEllEssWon 10-23-2012 05:38 AM

this was a good read. thanks for this thread :D

WSex 10-23-2012 07:22 AM

yup all that matter is that it purrs like a kitten!

MyFirstZ 10-23-2012 07:29 AM

if you have no coolant temp its probably the connector for your coolant temp sensor in the side of the driver side head. since that is your steering shaft I see pretty positive it will be. cant think of any other sensors on that side that would look like that.

Front of the head by the first exhaust primary, I think if you move the wiring harness inthe picture to the right we would see the sensor

yeah thatll be it 1 problem lost the sensor itself.
ill just pick one up with the oil pressure sending unit.
thank you:)

MyFirstZ 10-23-2012 10:11 AM

Make sure you have the proper socket to do the level sensor. Most part stores will have the socket in stock.

think i can get it with the intake placed or pull it out?

MyFirstZ 10-23-2012 02:08 PM

Not worth the trouble just take it out. Sometimes short cutting isn't worth it if you were flat rate and trying to make time and don't care about scratching the **** out of your arm from the studs on the coil bracket and the push pins on the plastic cowl then yeah..

I dont know if you can anyway, I think that back part of teh intake would be in your way and it would be really hard to get the right socket, extension combination that would give you the room you need without braking some other fragile piece back there . . .

Jersey Mike 10-23-2012 04:40 PM

I pulled the intake when I did my OPSU. I'd replace it pronto, by the way.

WSex 10-23-2012 07:49 PM

took it out went fir a drive ordered a 1.5 inch smaller belt to accomidate the ud pulley but wasnt enough on the side of the road on my maiden voyage
********..

LTb1ow 10-23-2012 08:29 PM

Thats a bitch

WSex 10-23-2012 09:14 PM

i replaced the sensor
just those hard to reach allen bolts on the intake kill me.

V 10-23-2012 09:42 PM

gm used allen head bolts?

Couldn't get to it fast enough. I think every bolt attached to the intake or anything that has to come off is bolted down by a 10 or 8mm head bolt

WSex 10-23-2012 09:59 PM

my wilson fast intake is allen bolts
car runs great other than the charging issue
it got down to 8v while ripping through the ghetto of east orange. made it to 280 and it started to fail so pulled my self over on a deep shoulder and got flatbedded home
and the exhaust is hitting on the body will get it straigtened out tomorrow

deadtrend1 10-23-2012 10:10 PM

I'm no expert in mechanics, but i would think that the belt problem and charging problem were related.

yes lol thats what i intended.
i had ordered 1.5 inch smaller for the 25%ud but it just wasnt enough.
going to get one 2.5 inches smaller than factory tomorrow

WSex 10-23-2012 10:24 PM

http://i1156.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0a265e8a.jpg
and ohhh bitch take me home
0.00$

got the scarecrow watching it over night.
babied it only to 3k rpm going to let it break in real well.

WSex 10-23-2012 10:35 PM

parts used

king bearings
arp rod studs
arp main studs
double roller timing set
25% ud puller tested to 12,500 rpm
smaller belt but not small enough
gaskets
rear main seal and front seal
new motor mounts
comp cam lifters which im pretty sure theyre ls7 lifters machined out a bit.
stock head gaskets
190,000 psi head studs
made in china.
exhaust wrap for the headers bc my feet would get way hot.
sub frame connectors from corey lt1 along with the front rotors since the back wouldnt fit due to the emergency brake shoes being larger than the ones from the lt1( who ever wants the rears come get it.)

all of this was done with 2 stands a cherry picker a jack 60$ in mixed tools at harbor freight and a snap on torque wrench+ lithium 18v 1/2 inch gun.

thank god i didnt end up ising a gallon of gas an a torch.
everything was quite easy.

WSex 10-24-2012 07:55 AM

yeah z i have the car running.
i put tye studs on 1st but the studs have an allen jey opening ontop if you prefer to put them onafter you seat the head.
biggest pain is getting the gasket through all 15 studs those things are sharp and cut me wideopen.
some of my blood is in the cooling system.

myfirstz- guess you read up a bit more

MyFirstZ 10-24-2012 08:22 AM

Yeah read the parts list and that was it lol

Then went back up

LTb1ow 10-24-2012 09:57 AM

So what did you torque the studs to?

WSex 10-24-2012 11:02 AM

25,45, 65
divided those by 5 and steptorqued in those increments.

...25 for the small ones
45 for the 2 end ones
and 65 on the big ones

anyways but a smaller belt but didnt resolve still not charging.
ughhh just wanna drive this thing
