damn dude. very awesome. impressive indeed. I'm glad your 10 bolt held up.. is this your last track event for the year I'm assuming? Overall, I would say the car is successful, so kudos to you for that.

sweetbmxrider 11-15-2019 03:42 PM

What are the ten bolt et and 60' records? You have to be close to something....

The_Bishop 11-15-2019 04:26 PM

Nicely done, sir. Pics look awesome.

LTb1ow 11-15-2019 04:44 PM

Guess I better step my game up this winter.

Congrats man, always good when things work out the way you want.

Me and my tuner have been tossing the idea of heading to Island one night and trying for the 9 second slip, but we elected to just shut it down for the year. Seeing that 9 is something I want to happen with all my friends there.

Funny you mention that. Some rando on Instagram that follows me saw the times and DM’d me a list from LS1Tech of the top 10 60’ on a 10 bolt... I’m proud to say that list will be getting an update. I am number 3. With the 2 ahead of me being 1.375 and 1.392. Both Nitrous cars spraying the whole shot from the go, no progressive. I feel that turning the progressive off and letting it eat it all from the get is either going to put me at the top, or put the 10 bolt out to pasture.

Looking forward to our run, been about 9 years in the making.

IROCZman15 11-15-2019 07:19 PM

Nice

And I’m guessing that atco staff didn’t give you any hassles about running under 10.49 with the 6 point roll bar? The let it slide for the day ? And no sfi trans shield, flexplate shield etc?
Basically since it’s a track rental test and tune? Just curious. I worry about that stuff coming into play for me in the near future and I worry about getting booted from island for it

6 point is sub 11.5 to 10.0 or trapping 135mph or higher iirc. Flexplate and shield is 9.99 or faster or 135mph+

But yeah, rental is more lenient with the detail stuff. Helmet, bar, harness and you aren't likely to get too hurt if **** goes bad. Its your life though, how much is it worth?

LTb1ow 11-16-2019 07:29 AM

The one and only goal everyone should be going for is +153mph...

chuuuuute!

yup, I see that he is on the cusp of the 9.99 set of requirements . I must have had my brain jumbled but for some reason I thought 10.49 was the number for a roll cage. I read your post and then checked the nhra guide and realized I was indeed incorrect and 10.00e.t./135mh is the limit. ref guide: http://www.nhraracer.com/Files/Tech/...e%20Charts.pdf
.. my mistake.

After feeling how the car felt on spray, especially at the big end, I am glad I have a cage and harness.

MDSheds_SS 11-17-2019 05:44 PM

I noticed a huge difference with my ET pros vs the Hoosiers. Both at the 60’ and on the big end. Love the look of Hoosiers but I will never go back. Maybe something to look into if your not 100 % comfortable with the way it feels.

i meant more of the car pulling hard af and seeing 130mph traps. Not that 120 vs 130 is going to make much of a diff if you guys have to peel me off the wall one day.

Really? I love the way my set up feels(Hoosiers in rear, Mickey T up front) Maybe you being on a taller tire effected it more? im only on a 26x10 hoosier drag radial, not a full slick.

side note, pulled car off the trailer into garage finally. theres a LOT of oil on the trailer.

Get you some puke tanks and vent as much crankcase pressure as you can.

Hey now...I never said we shouldn't go! Only that you might give the track officials at Island damn near a heart attack when you go 10.1 again with your tech card filled out with another "11.0 Estimated E.T" :kneeslap:

I'm still DOWN.................!

Last year's RaceWars we raced in -1500 DA. This year we raced in +500 DA. Big difference! Car did exactly what it should do on motor given the atmospheric conditions. At least you had something to make up for it this year!

N20 Pass 5, .5 second ramp in

10.16 @ 132 – 1.40 60’

That pass felt amazing. I wanted to make 1 more pass and turn it down to 0 ramp in, but by the time we reviewed the log and got the car cooled it was done. I wish I could have gotten one more pass it, but oh well. Prob better off. Who knows what the nitrous would have done to the 10 bolt with no ramp in.

And we still had slightly more wiggle room to play with as far as nitrous settings go to help the car get out a little harder. I'd like to think it wouldn't of resulted in pushing it back to the trailer though. I had budgeted our time that we'd be ending around 6pm like last year so the 4pm last call was a surprise! I think with just a couple more adjustments we could have clicked offed a 10.0 pass on just a 150 shot. Would have been amazing! The car straight up gets down for how handicapped it is mechanically!

More improvements will come

Thank you to Adam for having dumb strong fingers to pull fuses out and thank you to my friend Brown for having tiny hands to fix my purge. All the input and advice from all you guys have bought this from a rolling chassis to a car on the cusp of a 9 second slip. You guys are truly the best.

In all seriousness, I've literally watched you build, abort, sell, build, abort again, sell again, and build at least 15 F-Body cars. I'm really happy that this one is shaping up to be a realistic version of your goals. Proud & Happy to be a small part of it

You made this man make an account!

Good work, Nish. Beggs has been raving about how much personal attention you've shown and how hands on you've been. Now convince him to bring it to Pocono!

Good news folk, pulled the car out the garage to spin it around and no oil to be found.

Do I just file the oil on the trailer under never happened?

LTb1ow 11-21-2019 05:22 PM

But is there any oil left in the motor or trans?
