I did a thing.

I passed on buying this car a while back when it was at my buddys shop. Car was set up with a T-56 and procharger. The driveline was removed and swapped into a 2nd get T/a from what i understand. The car was bought before i could make room for it or anything so whatever.

Fast forward 4 months to last week, the car is for sale again. A quick ride to Yonkers, NY to make sure everything is good to go bout the car and after some :bertstare::bertstare::bertstare: the car is in my driveway.

1999 NBM w. Tan Interior Z28
LS1
T56

Car Has:
UMI 3 Point SFC
UMI LCAs
UMI LCA Relocation Brackets
UMI Adjustable TQ Arm
UMI Adjustable Panhard Bar
"Built Rear"

This "Built" rear is a 10 bolt. So far all i can tell about it is that it has a TA Girdle cover thing, and Extended wheel studs.

Not really sure wear i plan on heading with this. Auto or Stick is still up in the air with auto being in the lead by a significant amount. Also want to swap out the Tan gut... and the ZR1 Wheels.

Most likely its going to end up being a "Cam Only" build but who knows.

Theres some other issues that need to be addressed before that. Such as the lack of gas tank.

But anyway...

Welcome back d00d

Nice... NBM is the only color I like a tan gut on.

sweetbmxrider 09-16-2016 02:58 PM

The more important question.....is there a 4bt in that bread truck????

Jersey Mike 09-16-2016 03:14 PM

Not sure on budget, but I have the steel tank out of the '95 still if you want it.

Blackbirdws6 09-16-2016 03:20 PM

Congrats on the new money pit. You need some new lights ;).

I dont mind the seats all that much... the carpet is what kills me. I have a black carpet from my 01 Z, so maybe ill run the black carpet with the tan seats and see how it looks.

Well the car had a fuel cell, so idk what im gunna do about that. But id like to steer away from the steel tank.

Jersey Mike 09-16-2016 03:52 PM

Yeah I opted for the same. Nonetheless it's free for you, should you want to relive your LT1 days.

Blackbirdws6 09-16-2016 06:05 PM

I think black carpet with tan seats will look sad.

Disagree. If done right, you could definitely pull it off. See attached.

Not a fan, especially with the NBM exterior. Too many colors.

You realize whos car this is right ?

But seriously, after sitting in the car for a minute yesterday im not sure about the black on tan.

this is what i was imagining it would look like..

https://photos-2.carwow.co.uk/blog/1600/a8-tan.jpg

and the Fbody tan is much much lighter than i thought. Its almost like a pale grey.

Jersey Mike 09-17-2016 09:13 AM

Peanut butter.

The issue I'd see is you'd then have a trio of colors between your carpet, seats, and panels.

MDSheds_SS 09-17-2016 09:24 AM

Looks like an EZ Lip on the front like my car. Adds 5 RWHP. I measured on my ass dyno. Good luck with the build.

Panels would be swapped out for my black ones if anything.

You're really not going to buy a new battery? If not, I have an old Interstate in the shed that you can have. Take it to work & test it.

I figured i didnt have to state a new battery.

Do you have any coolant and used oil i can test out too mike ? :kneeslap:

Blackbirdws6 09-21-2016 08:59 AM

Missing decals and some form of FI.

MDSheds_SS 09-21-2016 11:22 AM

If it's a t56 car you will need a dash harness from n auto car as well as some type of plate to cover the hole from the t56 shifter. Only the rear 2 bolts will line up and the front of the shifter will hang down into the hole.
