halo headlight install w/ pics

Last night I installed my halo's (finally). It took about an hour and a half but it was totally worth it! The fit is pretty good using the old mounting brackets and since my car has almost 100,000 miles on it, the old headlights were all clouded up from years of rocks and chemicals. The new headlights make the car look brand new.

Once I get some better pics of them (night shots too) ill post em up.

Halo's defenitly look awsome on the LS1 style Camaro's.

But I never really knew what they are... Are they projection head-lights, or HID's?

Scorched SS 07-15-2005 09:17 AM

the halo itself has 2 LED's on the bottom that light the ring - the rest of the lights are standard issue - i think the upgrade to the HID's is next for me - i had them for a while but when one burnt out it was too expensive for me (at the time) to replace them.

not bad...i was thinking rice when i saw the title but they really flow well with the front end...me likey!

Looks real nice man. First time I ever saw them was on the 5-series BMW's a few years back and I love that look.

Firebirdgm2000 07-15-2005 03:25 PM

my brother did the same thing I personally like the complete blackout kit for the camaros even though they are illegal......there is always night time![/code]

Jaded1983 07-15-2005 03:59 PM

looks great man, they are in my future as well! :D

I was never into the Halo lights. Just doesnt do anything for me. Dont get me wrong, they do look good when they are off.

camaro2you 07-15-2005 04:31 PM

nice look.

calhoon 07-15-2005 05:08 PM

they match up nicely with that grill.

halos

Nice i was planning on doing a similar mod. However in the center of the halo's i want to mount my HID projectors. I figure the halo's are the best way to make it look clean.

HIDs are the way to go :D

Scorched SS 07-18-2005 10:25 AM

thanks everybody - everybody i talk to likes 'em too. My thoughts are that it instantly modernizes the car - makes it look like an '05. Gonna take some night shots tonight and post 'em.

I'm also going to disable the sensor for the automatic lights. keep those halos noticable for longer. 8)

Looks great, Jack!

How much did you pay for them?

Scorched SS 07-20-2005 04:30 PM

They were $160 shipped for the pair - which is good and bad... it seems way too cheap for a set of headlights, but on the up side it sure beats payin $250 a piece for factory units. 8)

enRo 07-20-2005 05:58 PM

Thats pretty impressive. They definately look better on a Camaro than a BMW. Now your Camaro looks even more like a catfish!

Scorched SS 07-21-2005 08:17 AM

yeah i could hang a couple of curb feelers off the bottom of the front bumper and change my name from scorched ss to cooked catfish! haha! nice!

Jaded1983 07-21-2005 08:21 AM

damn, makes me want them even more now. a pair a clear corners would compliment them really well.... I think my next few investments will be a lid, and then either white faced gauges with a TA bezel or those halo's... damn i hate bein broke, heh
