A simple 4-point cage would also look nice with a monkey bar to attach a camera

Actually just found this!

Quote:

Allows for the attachment of five point harnesses in the correct safety position
All bars are made from 1.5" diameter heat-treated steel and are powder coated red or black.
Submarine brackets available
Also a good place for a Camera mount

Thats whats up! i like that. I just put the back seat in my camaro down and put **** under the seat but i like that even more! If you got plans on paper how to do that let me know because thats hot!
i ******** hate people in the back on my car and thats an even better excuse not to drive more than one person around!

Tsar 09-10-2005 05:53 PM

So you removed the back seat, whats really the point of it? :? Besides not driving more then one person around, which i dont do anyways. Just for looks i assume...

I get screwed over and have to drive people around which i don't like doing. I have a few punk ass lazy friends who are broke and don't drive their cars anywhere because they're lazy ****s and i get ****ed over going someplace and getting asked for rides. I should just put a taxi sign on the roof and start charging people since gas is really expensive.
I personally think that looks really good and i don't like the back seat in the car as is. I just keep the back part down and its some what looks like that.

qwikz28 09-10-2005 06:10 PM

i like having the back seat when needed though. i'm with paul though, i put my seat down when im not using it

j0n 09-10-2005 06:18 PM

Weight Reductions!!!

Im not sure on how much the entire back seat assembly weight's, but Im sure Little G or NJSPEEDER could tell you more accuretly.

I never drive passengers in my car. Even if their light weights I still think my car is dragging ass.

the backseat weighs about 30 lbs. in a 4th gen. the seats themselves are light, since they're made out of foam, but the back piece weighs the most. the rear seat belt brackets are a bitch to take off, GM put Loctite on the bolts. I nearly burnt out the motor on my cordless drill trying to take them out.

alex, is there a kit you found for the rear seat delete? i know they're out there, i just haven't been able to find them.

GP99GT 09-11-2005 12:22 AM

cordless drill? bah

ratchet and a pipe....loctite wont stand a chance

I did find kits but they look like a waste of money iMO. I was looking through CZ28, and alot of people say the manufactured ones dont fit very well. Im going to see what kind of hard material I can use, but for starters I want to find a simila carpet material. If I can just get that, I would use a fabric to cover anything un-citely.

qwikz28 09-11-2005 02:21 AM

but what is its purpose? its just a bar to mount a harness and a camera?

well, if it was done totally right, there would be a full roll cage in there. that would strengthen the chassis, as well as protect the driver in the event of a rollover.

Savage_Messiah 09-11-2005 01:09 PM

who needs a delete kit? thats like adding the weight right back on, just for looks. And yea those seatbelt bolts are a bitch, not to mention that theyre torx so I tried with my bare hands (i have one of those tool things with like 6 or 8.... ok nevermind ****tiest description ever, but yea)

not if you make the kit out of fiberglass

Savage_Messiah 09-11-2005 01:34 PM

thats still unnesessary... just do what I did if you want a clean look... I moved my subs to where the seats used to be

pics? ialways wanted to remove the back seat and mold some subs in there, with fiberglass of course. ive seen it done in a supra and it looked pretty good.

Tru2Chevy 09-11-2005 01:49 PM

Craig has a rear seat delete panel in his car, it's just flat though, not boxed. Of course it's only in during daily driving, not at the track. I'll see if we can get pics/measurements for you alex, looks VERY simple to make.
