2006 Camaro Concept - Hemmings Muscle

According to an article in Hemmings Muscle Machines, they have seen pics of the new 2006 Camaro concept, but GM forbids them to print it (ie they will sue).

sure, sure thats what they all say!

WayFast84 12-05-2005 07:59 PM

I say they should just start where they left off because so far all the concepts I have seen look terrible thats my 2 cents

ar0ck 12-05-2005 08:51 PM

I think their just being a bunch of **** teases and hyping it up. We will know next month. I am alittle excited, could be my first NEW car...

Savage_Messiah 12-05-2005 08:54 PM

interesting how, if its close enough, that has the same rear-lights-stretch-across styling as this Challenger concept...

im with alex in the new car-ness

WayFast84 12-05-2005 09:21 PM

My next car is going to be a LT1 trans am with a t56 that will be my daily driver, then I will be saving up for a ls1 trans am with a t56 and a raptor hood ( I love raptor hoods!)

BonzoHansen 12-05-2005 09:26 PM

I kind of like the 1st gen leanings of this & a lot of the concepts I have seen. They are the best looking ones, IMO.

ar0ck 12-05-2005 09:27 PM

Got bored and googled the "Muscle Tone"

Now if they finalize the models, lets say they keep with the RS, Z28, SS line up, Im defenitly going with the top of the line (lets say SS) And I must say I like it!

I HATE the angle the quarter window is at. other than that, I love it.

BigAls87Z28 12-05-2005 10:30 PM

BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL****!
NO ONE has seen this car outside of the very few close enough to the concept.
I cant wait to actualy walk up and touch it....

12secondv6 12-05-2005 10:38 PM

Al will hump it and lick it!

BigAls87Z28 12-05-2005 11:05 PM

Make sure you pass the camera off to Tim or Craig before they cuff you. We need those pics posted, even if it means that you have to sit in the cell a bit longer.....

Well first off, there will be a similcast of the unveiling on GMTv. Pictures will be available from GMI that night probably and video of the thing as well.

1972LT1 12-06-2005 10:25 AM

Ditch the wheels, give it 69rs or 70 z28 rims add a small rear spoiler like the one on a 69,side marker lights from a second gen.,and a 2 or 3 inch cowl induction hood. It has potential....if GM would wake up and pay attention to what the customer wants instead of building so many damn SUV's and that El Camino wanna be SSR, they might be a profitable company.

BigAls87Z28 12-06-2005 10:52 AM

Uh...SUV and Trucks are WAY WAY WAYAYWAYWYDRAWYERawe'rawRAYWAWYAWY more profitable then cars are.

Not sure if anybodys been searchin around but there WAS a couple of pics on ls1tech of the car! Then it hit autoweek, camaroz28, gminsidenews, and they ALL got shut down by GM VERY SHORTLY afterwards - somebody was onto something big...

BTW... it was F*CKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and they said 2009... not '06 :(

BigAls87Z28 12-07-2005 10:04 AM

There will most deffinatly be a concept at this year Detroit.
As far as production, if a very strong response is given to the concept, and its sister cars, then a green light will be given and the ball for GM's affordable RWD chassis will roll.

79CamaroDiva 12-07-2005 10:30 AM

This was on the ls1tech boards and supposely gm was going to sue them because they released these pics

*removed incase GM gets pants in a bunch*

LS1Hawk 12-07-2005 11:26 AM

Very interesting....

BigAls87Z28 12-07-2005 11:33 AM

Wow...You can see the 2 design themes that they are still working on.
Big important things is this...
IRS rear end
Dual Exhaust
Flexable subframe

Now realize that this is a concept, and that the real Camaro will not look like this. But this is VERY agressive and I love it!! I wish it was in red, but yes I do love it. Front end is very modern, yet retro...which Im not a huge fan of, but the body lines, green house, everything looks great. Love it, and cant wait to touch it.

Scorched SS 12-07-2005 12:17 PM

yo id loose those if i were you - gm is bringing the hammer down on forums that post those pics
