Catback
It's all dependent upon two variables: "Sound Quality" and "Price". Personally, I like the deeper throaty sound of the Hooker Catback not to mention the lower price. I got mine from Thunder Racing for $260. Of course you can pick up a full stainless Borla or Corsa for $600+ but the sound is not the same. I would not recommend the loudmouth(my personal opinion), after hearing it on numerous club members cars. It's way too loud for everyday use. Hooker is mild at idle, yet loud when you punch it.
Ian, you're in Hillsboroygh right. If you want to stop by sometime, preferably on the weekend and hear what the Hooker sounds like, let me know. I'm in town also. Good luck on your decision. |
id like to stop by one day and hear the hooker id like to get one but have never heard it in person.

Hooker
Ryan,
You don't have to go far. I'm in engineering at Raritan! |
lol oh so thats your name on here, never new it now i do ,wow i feel dumb hehe anyway i was hopeing it was an ls1 that had it on there car i really wanna hear it on an ls1. but i do wanna see ur car one day after work and listen to it up close i never did im sure it cant be all that diffrent lt1 to ls1 execpt that i have LT's
|
I'll let you know when I bring it in since I don't take it out every day. Maybe during our lunch break would be better. I'll touch base with you next week.
|
I like the way the borla's sound on an ls1.
gmmg would obviously be the best though but they are pircey. |
since we're talking about cat backs, is magnaflow any good, its not that expensive so you opinions, please?

Stock LT1 with just a hooker catback, Click |
hooker has a nice deep sound on lt1's. Not to loud at all.
www.ls1sounds.com has a sound clip of an lt1 with a hooker. one of my favorite set ups that I've seen was an lt1 with pacesetter lt's ory and hooker. sounded really nice. |
I think he was asking about the magnaflow system
Alex has it on his car and it sounds sweet! |

nice vids, i definately like the sound. thanks!
|
These were all WOT vids of my car, but Once the weather clears up, i will get a few vids of crusing around town. i kid you not, at 50mph in idle, 5th& 6th gear, you wouldnt think that the car had LTS or an ory! loud the car is, it has a good sound throughout the whole RPM range, and not that terrible drone many are faced with today!
|
Hooker IMHO sounds great!!
|
I like the hooker and I like the SLP dual/dual(but I'm biased since it's on my car).
Another question you have to ask yourself is do you plan on adding headers and an ORY pipe? That will definately need to be factored into the equation because that can and will change the loudness/tone/possible raspiness. |
Magnaflow
