as far as I know they are a direct bolt in, hedman headers and y pipe. I have about 8 bolts off allready ;-) how far are you from 08820? so I can see about how much for a flatbed :(

I honestly tried to, I said I couldnt before but tried my hardest, I finally get alot of progress, and it "looked" as if I needed a 16 mm deep socket I could not find mine, couldnt find my wrench, went out today got one, put it on to big I say wtf put on the 15 to small go back out get a gator grip not deep enough, but works like a charm on other bolts.. Im just so pissed off its not even funny.. I mean is it really even worth all the agrivasion on ****ing gay ass lg4?!??

:werd:

and to matt: just keep buying what you need its not like your just gonna use it once and be done with it. as for taking off the stock manifolds and putting on the headers its worth it. for one you gain experience, two you save yourself a pretty good amount of money, and three u feel good that u actually did something yourself. no matter how much of a pain in the ass it is, most likely its worth it in the end.

BonzoHansen 04-07-2006 08:37 PM

I figure you can do it in 3 years.

 with a sawz all and a decent set of tools

BigAls87Z28 04-07-2006 09:05 PM

Its really not that hard. You can do it, you do have 3 years before it really has to be done.

Mike 04-07-2006 09:37 PM

i said it in another of your threads and ill say it once again........if its name is vicegrip, gatorgrip, or anything with "adjustable" or "grip" in it, keep it away from your engine bay and go adjust the pipes under your sink........

take some of the money you keep buying parts with and buy a nice big tool set from sears.....a couple hundred bucks and you will have 90% of what you need on that car

BigAls87Z28 04-07-2006 09:44 PM

Dude, if you want me to give you my discount to get a Craftsman set, just let me know.

DieselKickYoAss4Sure 04-08-2006 10:05 AM

listen man if you can afford to get the headers put on you can buy a set of tools to do it yourself.

WayFast84 04-08-2006 10:21 AM

yeah but Ive been busting ass trying to install the headers, but I just cant do it.

12secondv6 04-08-2006 10:29 AM

Well.... for his age I'll give him a lot of credit.... also as we ALL can remember... we had no patience back at that age.

You mentioned you have 8 bolts off correct?

How many left, 2?

Ditch the gator grip.

Are the bolts stuck? If yes, did you spray with WD40 to loosen them? That makes a big help... spray the bolts down and wait for 30-45 min.

If you keep at it it will eventually come out.

Persistence is the key.

BUT, use the EXACT size wrench/ socket for the bolt... if you do not.... you may round over the sides of the nut and not be able to remove it w/ simple tools
