lifting a wheel on the street??

this one kid told me that his car did it- is it possible to do that with a CAI, catback LT1 M6, 10bolt with 4.10s, and all spohn stuff and ZR1's w/ drag radials? im having a hard time believing that. i dont even think he has springs or shocks but def has pretty much every spohn suspension componet that i can think of
runs 12.9s at the track, he cant remember his 60'

im just curious

Bandit 01-20-2007 05:53 PM

98tadriver 01-20-2007 05:55 PM

i figured he was just squatting down hard and THOUGHT he mightve pulled a wheel lol

Looked like this I bet.

I would need to re-work the suspension, take weight off and add light wheels and "maybe" see a little day light.

98tadriver 01-20-2007 06:50 PM

dayum. i cant wait to get a pic of my car doing that!

Certainly not with a 12.9 and the mods you listed.

he could probably lift a tire goin around a corner, as most any car can, but he's not gonna get it done in a straight line.

 :werd:

10 bolt would break while the car is still in neutral... not possible

this is true:lol:

Tru2Chevy 01-24-2007 11:25 AM

Maybe he hopped a curb or something.....not happening in a straight line on flat road with those mods.

too much weight in the nose and not enough suspension mods. if all you wanted to do was lift a tire, you could do it with only about 350 hp, but the car would be damn near undriveable due to the suspension setup. you'd have to have a front suspension that unloaded really quick and enough weight off the nose and more weight in the rear. its possible to do, but not with a mostly stock LT1 running 12.9's.

A floor jack works good to pick up front wheels....

Not to bump the old thread, but James can lift one front tire and he's only got 186 hp @ the rear wheels.....

ah, very true. I just use the 350 figure to play it safe incase the car weighs more than james' 2 thousand pound bird

Yup, I've watched him pony the left front (and Melissa has a pic or two) while cutting mid 1.7 60' times N/A. Last day Island was open in 2005....

linemanap7423 01-31-2007 11:43 AM

jus so yall know that was me, and that was based on OTHER PPLS sights, not mine, as i cant watch myself do it, a local street racer saw me do it and told me that i did it, quite frankly i cant believe it myself but thats wat was told to me

Well, I wasn't there, so I'm not gonna flat out say that you or the guy who told you is lying, however the chances of you lifting a tire on a smooth street with your setup is pretty much non existent.

- Justin

linemanap7423 01-31-2007 03:19 PM

yea, i myself would like to know what im doing, when the track opens up ill get it on video on what the hell im doing..lol but thanks for your input even to those who are jerks about it!!
