You DO know that's a misquote, right?

That rod looks like it's seen better days LOL. That cylinder isn't too hacked up?

bubba428 05-20-2007 08:14 PM

Jut checked my lifters...3 are colapsed

89CamaroRS 05-20-2007 08:22 PM

good god those rods r tore up! i'm about to pull my 2.8 out to replace it with a SBC. it's got 153k on it. i wasn't originally gonna do anything but scrap it, but now i've got to pull it apart and see just how bad things are. it's got a nasty valve tap now, but if ur rods r that bent i wonder what mine r gonna look like.

bubba428 05-20-2007 08:25 PM

well remember i did allot of tinkering with injectors and it ran rich for a while...not to mention it over heated...i think it may be a unique instance

mmmmm...sweet sweet pie

what exactly are you doing to it with the whole bottom end apart?

bubba428 05-21-2007 09:22 AM

replacing the bearings and cleaning the entire block...I'm beefing up the top end and with 180,000 miles on that engine I really don't want to take any chances. So I'm rebuiling the entire thing.

bubba428 05-22-2007 02:29 PM

Ok I found were to get the rods. I'm still set back till I start working...looks like I'm aiming for july now

bubba428 09-01-2007 07:14 AM

alright the block is out to the shop and I found a shop to tune my obd1. so it looks like I'll be running an F-body again pretty soon
