That rod looks like it's seen better days LOL. :shock: That cylinder isn't too hacked up?

good god those rods r tore up! i'm about to pull my 2.8 out to replace it with a SBC. it's got 153k on it. i wasn't originally gonna do anything but scrap it, but now i've got to pull it apart and see just how bad things are. it's got a nasty valve tap now, but if ur rods r that bent i wonder what mine r gonna look like.

well remember i did allot of tinkering with injectors and it ran rich for a while...not to mention it over heated...i think it may be a unique instance

what exactly are you doing to it with the whole bottom end apart?

replacing the bearings and cleaning the entire block...I'm beefing up the top end and with 180,000 miles on that engine I really don't want to take any chances. So I'm rebuiling the entire thing.

Ok I found were to get the rods. I'm still set back till I start working...looks like I'm aiming for july now

alright the block is out to the shop and I found a shop to tune my obd1. so it looks like I'll be running an F-body again pretty soon

I've been considering running a 100 shot but I really wanna see what I can do N/A first

Bottom ends together finally...gonna pull an all nighter and get some of the fabrication done.

yup other wise I would have wound up with 14:1 compression
