Tire ?????

okie dokey now, I just got 2 10x27 15 hoosier Drag slicks for $20, I already know it will be tight...but would it be dangerous to pop them on my 15x7 bird wheels?

JerzLT1 03-05-2008 01:42 PM

look at hoosiers website, it will tell you what size rim is NEEDED for that size tire.

Mike 03-05-2008 02:45 PM

too much tire for your motor but whatever you wanna do

Tru2Chevy 03-05-2008 04:31 PM

would they be 27x10.5x15 quick time pros?

Their site doesn't list a 27" tall full slick.

If they are QTPs, Hoosier's site says they need to be on an 8"-10" rim.

Ha....good luck. Circle track compounds are nothing like drag compounds. And those are hards too.

yea I read about that....I'm gonna have either heat them up all freakin day or idk, they were on a mustang as drag slicks maybe thats why he thinks the car is so badazz

Tru2Chevy 03-05-2008 07:16 PM

If you heat them up to much, they will lose grip. Like I said, it's a completely different rubber compound. Drag tires are designed to be heated up a decent amount, that makes the surface of the tire sticky and provides good traction. Circle track tires are designed to be used at a constant temperature for extended periods of time.

Not to mention they could be staggered.

bubba428 03-05-2008 07:39 PM

Not necessarily....circle track tires can have the same number printed on the sidewall and have over an inch difference in circumference. A lot of it has to do with the way they were handled when new.

We were always measuring tires when working on Randy99's modified.

No, Randy runs dirt. Post them up on racing junk or something, someone might grab them.

bubba428 03-05-2008 08:59 PM

JSPERFORMANCE 03-06-2008 05:18 AM

All I've done is add lots and lots of "unnecessary" weight to my car.

JSPERFORMANCE 03-06-2008 06:08 AM

thats right, your car will probably be slower this year

bubba428 03-06-2008 06:37 AM

Mike 03-06-2008 07:20 AM
