Pulled the trigger...and another one should be pulled soon.

Well I finally decided to purchase the rear for my Bird. I went with a Strange S60 w/ 3.73's, detroit truetrac, powdered diff cover, 35 spline axles with a 3" chromoly driveshaft.

Did I also mention I'm currently in attorney review for a house I will close either the end of Feb or March if all goes smoothly?

I'm a professional at spending money...let me know if you require my services.

deadtrend1 01-13-2009 02:07 PM

I'm a professional at spending money also. I just kinda ran out recently. Can you help with that??

Very sweet dude, I can't wait till I blow up my rear.... so then I can get a new one.... weeee :fluffy:

I don't know what you do for a living but are you hiring? :)

Congrats on the house that presumably has a nice garage.

Congrats on the house that presumably has a nice garage.

I'm a mechanical engineer working for a company that manages energy efficiency and incentive programs for the state of NJ. I am doing well compared with my peers but having a wife that is also an engineer really helps with the bills.

I didn't mention she doesn't know I bought it yet lol...the rear that is.

That's what she gets for making fun of me babying my TA out of the hole at the track with the 10-bolt!

The garage is an oversized 2 car with a big single door and no support pole. Hurray for crooked parking. It's a good starter home for my wife and I.

Didn't order them. I may wait to install the rear when I get in the new house. We will see so I have some time for those LCA brackets. If I don't manage to do it, it will be a project for another weekend lol. I need a lift like you!

Thanks and Gina is doing progressively better. She is been back at work for a month or so now so it's a challenge but she is a fighter. Thank you for asking.

Haha, I broke the news to her when I got home. She just asked how much and her response was "I'm glad you got it for a good price". I knew she was a keeper. :)

I'm still going to be in Piscataway but just a couple exits south. Exit 7 off 287 for reference. Hopefully all will go well with the inspectors and it will be somewhat smooth sailing until closing but I doubt it. Buying a house is very stressful.

Thank you to everyone for the congrats. 09 is looking good so far so hopefully I can keep the momentum.

IROCdan330 01-13-2009 06:11 PM

congrats.

I love my S60 btw.

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-13-2009 06:13 PM

Sounds like it's shaping to be a great year for you! Good luck with the house.

We had a rough stint finding a house. We have the money, good credit and all the right things a seller would like to see, however we seemed to always find ourselves getting into bidding wars. In this market, once someone topped our offer or countered, we folded and went looking for another house. We originally planned to move a bit closer to my wife's work up north but for the price range we were looking for, we didn't really like the houses.

We started looking around in this area since within a couple weeks, found the house we are working to purchase now. I'll be happy when I give away a good chunk of my money and start home ownership. I'm going to start looking for ways to mod my first lawn mower :)

You'll look SO fast going SO slow....

I'll admit I'm envious about the garage....

Haha nice Brian. I plan on going to school to become a mechanical engineer(I'm actually going to look at Drexel on Monday). It's nice to know I'll actually be able to afford to spend money on the toys once I find a good job.

we just listed our house off of mountain ave. it seems like the market in this area has really taken a beating since the economy stumbled. should provide for some good investment once the economy picks back up.

ps- do a thorough check for termites. i can't believe the amount of termites we found in our house. luckily they limited themselves to trim around the house and my trailer bed. don't know if its isolated to our house or an area thing, but needless to say, it sucks :banghead:

I know a fantastic inspector if you need one. Scared the crap out of my sellers- the guy walked around taping everything he said and got into every little nook and cranny. Gave a 20+ page report. But I think the company cut down on staff. Foresight Engineering, ask for Brett if he's still there. Not the cheapest but totally worth it.

Teds89IROC 01-13-2009 11:06 PM

congrats Brian! Good luck with the house!

cdacda13 01-13-2009 11:19 PM
