what injectors!!!

hey guys.... im going to finish up buying the fuel stuff i need for my build... just cant figure out what injector to go with... probably going to go with the SVO's... but there is a couple of styles i think to choose from.... can anybody guide me in the right direction... car is N/A 383 and going to be running 42# injectors on that ( i know its a little high but id rather tune them down then be at the limits of a 36#) i think there is like svo green top and blue top... anybody know the difference or what is better for my build... thanks!

NJ Torque 09-12-2009 08:55 PM

The 42# injectors are fine on my cam only LS1...

transmaro93 09-12-2009 10:05 PM

yea i just dont know what brand to go with... probably svo but what line... green top? i donno...

S.J.SLEEPER 09-12-2009 10:11 PM

42's way to go so you don't have to have a high duty cycle.
i'm a little particular in when it comes to putting ford parts in my cars.... (a little stuck up, owned 2 fords both pos's)
i have had real good luck with brands of injectors : venom , fast , racetronics
svo injectora i think are single hole, multi hole (3 hole spray nozzle) better atomization, performance, mpg etc...

transmaro93 09-12-2009 10:14 PM

yea i know the racetronix ones are good... but they are really expensive also...

NJ Torque 09-13-2009 12:11 AM

I have Bosch units in my car...

If you looking for cheap(wouldnt do that with parts like this...) look for Lightning injectors.

BarneyMobile 09-13-2009 12:44 AM

I have the Racetronix (delphi/lucas) 42's in my car. They work well! I also had the Racetronix 37's in my old 95 Z28.

transmaro93 09-13-2009 08:59 AM

not looking for the cheapest...i just know that the racetronix are like $500+ for the set and svo's are much lower but still a good product from what iv seen around...

S.J.SLEEPER 09-13-2009 09:05 AM

ther's a guy on craigslist in philly that has a set of racetronix injectors. don't remeber if they were 36 or 42 lb. think they were 42's here is his #1-215-651-5481 name is joe

transmaro93 09-13-2009 09:32 AM

id rather buy new... thanks though

sweetbmxrider 09-13-2009 10:13 AM

you don't want too large of an injector though. the spray pattern will be incorrect for the rpm.

transmaro93 09-13-2009 10:51 AM

yea i think ill be strait with 42's... i think 36's will be overworking themselves... im going to PM that 95ta guy see what hes using since hes got a car somewhat like what im doing...

S.J.SLEEPER 09-13-2009 12:45 PM

they only have a 1,000 miles on them, so he says.

camaroracer1992 09-13-2009 12:51 PM

i have a set of 65 FAST bosch style injectors for sale in about a month i need to upgrade to larger injectors let me know if youre interested

LTb1ow 09-13-2009 03:07 PM

42# SVOs, just cause they come in pretty colors. :)

transmaro93 09-13-2009 04:20 PM

whats the different colors mean though matt??

LTb1ow 09-13-2009 04:53 PM

Its like a color coding. Mine are red, 42s are green I think.

transmaro93 09-13-2009 04:55 PM

OOOHHH.. its only color coded for the size... i thought it was coded for the flow rate or impedence or somthing... i think im going to go with 42# svo's.... thanks for the help guys as always very appreciated...

Pampered-Z 09-14-2009 08:52 AM

You pay a bit more for the racetronic's stuff but your getting injectors matched to 1% and they have great customer service. I've run into some minor issues with their fuel pump kits and they always addressed the issue and corrected it right away.

Here is the part number for the 42s.

It's all right on the site...click the "Buy Now" link....

The site shows $35.00 each, so $280 for 8 (but factory tolerances in fuel flow apply).

A 1% matched 8 pack is $360

^^^ thanks! i didnt see tthe buy it now button...

NJ Torque 09-14-2009 07:37 PM

I wouldnt suggest "009" injectors... they are very difficult to tune for...

RamAir95TA 09-14-2009 08:41 PM

My vote is for the Lucas/Delphi 42#ers.

JerzLT1 09-15-2009 07:55 PM

i have Delphi 37# on mine, how much hp are you expecting to push?
