im doing it

looks like im goin to be doin an le2 heads cam intake on the ta... so car will be down for a while.. any one have any comments or suggestion?

KirkEvil 06-12-2010 11:58 AM

Get long tube headers first. and a case of wd40

Make sure you have absolutely everything you need to do the install before tearing your car apart. You will run into problems that delay getting it all together and you dont want everything scattered. sammich bags with labels help too.

JerzLT1 06-12-2010 01:44 PM

get LTs like already stated, dont install that LT4 intake (no gains), get LE to port your stocker or buy my stocker thats ported for LE2s by LE (has 37# injectors too), label everything (like already stated), oh and take your budget and multiply it by 1.5 and you should be good.

imjustinlampe 06-12-2010 02:36 PM

yeah the car is sitting all apart(no worries i know where everything goes), and im going to go with lpp long tubes, im going to order them while the heads are getting machined... and budget wise, i know what im in for but itll be worth it and well bc i work at a dealer, i can get discounts on parts that i need so its all good =)

MyFirstZ 06-12-2010 02:53 PM

nice, might have to hit you up if i do the ls6 heads and cam one day! lol

good luck

Replace the basic stuff while your in there. Recommend a new timing set if you don't already have that factored in.

imjustinlampe 06-12-2010 06:54 PM

planned to do that while im in there also planned on new ignition plugs wires opti, water pump, timimg, and resealing the engine.. i have a few oil leaks..

imjustinlampe 06-12-2010 06:54 PM

how do i post pics ?

RamAir95TA 06-12-2010 08:00 PM

Have you also considered AI?

LTb1ow 06-12-2010 08:17 PM

yut yo... can o worms, open.

lulz.

How is your suspension setup?

And new timing set for the most part means EWP time.
Tune?

imjustinlampe 06-13-2010 01:43 AM

didnt check out ai untill now and i like what i see, and well now im debating ... any suggestions?

LTb1ow 06-13-2010 08:47 AM

Both will perform great. In this thread you got two guys running LE stuff and one guy running AI.

Give em both a call, explain your goals/budget and compare. Give your money to the guy you feel will best earn it.

imjustinlampe 06-13-2010 11:59 AM

coulnt have said it better... thanks (lts1ow)

imjustinlampe 06-13-2010 12:18 PM

so i feel like i should know this... but when i do the heads/intake what should i do as far as the gaskets go? and also if the exhaust ports are larger, wont the headers have a stock port diameter

LTb1ow 06-13-2010 12:26 PM

Say what?

Send your heads/intake to either Lloyd or AI and they will take care of all that. Exhaust ports will not be changed, regular gaskets will work fine for them.

imjustinlampe 06-13-2010 01:49 PM

ok, thanks well im goin to give both a call, and then decide who to go with... ill keep ya updated

LTb1ow 06-13-2010 01:50 PM

Cool, and like I said, the three guys in this thread all trap above 115, so the combos def work.

And another option not mentioned yet, is JS perf, I am pretty sure he does head/intake porting too.

imjustinlampe 06-19-2010 03:36 PM

well i spoke to le today, we have a cam picked out discussed pricing what i need to ship ect ect ect... looks like illl be doin an le2 set up very soon =)

JerzLT1 06-20-2010 08:58 PM

i had my LE2s re-ported by Josh from JS. if i had to do it over again i wouldve had Josh do them in the first place. call him and see what he has to say as well.

imjustinlampe 06-22-2010 07:49 PM

imjustinlampe 06-29-2010 08:07 PM

well i know im going to regret it... but im honestly at the point where i dont care any more... i think im goin to just re seal the motor, change the wires(i have a burned wire), and sell the car... im not sure why im doing this but i think its what im goin to do.. i guess i fix cars at work.. i fix cars at home.. im tired of doin it.. im lettin both my cars go..(nissan and my trans am)... i wanna buy a car i wont modify..

sweetbmxrider 06-29-2010 08:19 PM

sucks man, gotta go through the ups and downs though to get to the good part.
