Cruise to June Meet - Chatterbox
I haven't seen anything yet, and since it is on Saturday, I thought I'd get this started. Last year, Larry, Nick, and a couple others met up at Larry's shop in Hackettstown and cruised up the back roads to the meet. I joined them as they blew through Andover. Since we had a good time, I thought we'd do another cruise up. Naturally the weather needs to cooperate.
I believe Larry offered to use his shop as the starting point again, however, I'd like to be sure before we just show up. Instead of doing a rolling join like I did last year, I may just go to where ever the starting point is, and join up there. This time, I'll definitely have a car that can keep up, whether its the daily or the GTA. I still can't believe I was able to keep up last year with that Subaru, the manual trans in that car helped no doubt.:lol: So, any ideas, routes, suggestions? I'd use a different route than last time. Just not sure which one. Per Larry's post below we can meet at his shop. Address is: 118 Mill St. Hackettstown, NJ |
We can meet at the shop. Time TBD
Location: 118 Mill St. Hackettstown, NJ |
Where's the shop (address) i would certainly love to join, I can't wait for this meet at all, provided Mother Nature is gonna cooperate

Don't think anyone in central jersey wants to meet up... and this is pretty much half way. I'll meet you guys there!
|
Larry, I guess you can lead, don't care much how we get there as long as the roads are sweet.
|
Have fun guys...only meet I ever attended and it was great.

What time?
|
How does gather at 2ish and leave by 2:30 sound? leave by 3? Chatterbox doesnt get crowded until 4:30-5ish weather permitting.
|
Not able to make this meet unfortunately..family obligations.
|
Hopefully the weather holds up. The event says 3 to get a spot =-O
|
I'll sort of be travelling through Flemington to get to Chatterbox, but I would be taking a lot of back roads most likely, if you wanted to me me in Ringoes area.

late model peoples - you don't need to be too concerned about your arrival time at the Chatterbox. For those of you that haven't been there, they only allow cars that are 25 years or older in the main area (some of you my qualify). All others are asked to park in the grass/gravel area opposite of the restaurant. There is plenty of space available there. On a nice day it does fill up fast and usually people stick around until 7:30ish.
Go with the fried mac and cheese wedges - good stuff. yeah yeah, I don't post too often - but I troll a lot  |
2pm works for me, third gens are iffy in getting parking in the main area. The GTA is 25, and I do park in the main area, but pulling up, they still ask. They say that they remember driving them as company cars so they're not really classics in their eyes. But they do let them in. I agree on the late models and parking. There are two lots they use. Plenty of parking.
The guys coming up 31 theoretically could take 46 into Hackettstown and meet up with the rest of us North Jersey guys. Don't have to, just a thought. Exhaust is still broken, but I really don't care, taking mine anyway. |
What about the wawa in flemington on 31?
|
Weather so far is staying away, I think I'm the closest to the CHatterbox, and its clouds, sun, though it is a bit cloudy now with blue sky showing in spots. Knock on wood, lets hope this weather stays away for the balance of the day, so anyone who is looking at the weather down there, ignore it, its good to go up here. So far.

I'll be at Larry's shop, with a GTO. I say meet there at 2, head out @ 230ish. I have to be there before the crowd starts for all the other NJFBOA.
|
so 2-230 at the shop?
