Thinking about a tattoo...
of my avatar!!
The only thing is, how do I determine if it's something I'm going to want 5, 10, 20, etc years from now? Also, where do I put it? |
hahaha, get it on the inside of your wrist or forearm?
|
if you dont know if you will want it in some years, think more......
i have mine between my shoulder blades at the top of my back, the only time anyone sees it is if i mean for them to. and sometimes ill go a month completely forgetting its there. if you plan on doing anything career wise that it might be frowned upon, dont get anything below the elbow so that you can cover it with a short sleeved shirt |
if you get it on the inside of your wrist it can be easily covered up by a watch, and it's also not too obvious, especially if you don't like it later in life. it will hurt a lot getting it there though. and for that kind of tattoo, that is a good place to have it. you dont want you be putting it on your back or your arm. that would look silly.
Or you could get it in white ink. those are nifty when you want a more discrete tattoo... but personally i hate them, so i don't know why i am even giving my opinion. oh, but you can also get them in a speacial ink that is invisible until shown under a blacklight. AND it's cheaper. but then, why would you want a tattoo if it only really shows under black light? |
tattoos are definatelly an addiction... i want another so bad.. but i dunno anyone who will tattoo underage. plus id prefer to go back to the guy who first did mine. just cuz he was awsome. my mom said she was gunna go to him for her next tattoo as well. newayz... yea. i want another tattoo too.... but i think its gunna havta wait another year an 27 days... :-(

i wanna get a tatto but i dont want 1 that evry1 else gots so i cant fig out what i want but dont get it below a tshirt line if u think yould end up in a job that frowns apon it and draw what u want or if u cant draw have a friend draw it up then look at it in a few months and if u still want it go for it.
|
depends what youre going to be working as where you can get it and how big you want it
i was thinking about getting one too, but not clue of what |
be aware, once you get one, you will get another. i have one on my back, on my leg, and my arm. my arm will eventually be a 1/2 sleeve.
my first and second tattoos are things that i know i will never regret. they are part of who i am. my third one is just plain cool  |

i have one right now a tribal type design on my right arm, and i am getting another one soon between my shoulder blades on my neckline which will be a tribal cross. they dont hurt really bad at all. personally as far as color goes im not a fan of anythign but the black and grey shading myself. tattoos definitely can be addictive i wanted another one like a week after i got hte first, but this second one means alot to me so i knew right away what i wanted and why

I have one on my back... shoulder to shoulder.
You gotta find one that is YOU.... then figure out where you want it.... Took me several years..... finally found something I wanted... but wanted more so they added to it. MOST difficult decision... getting the first one Easiest decison.... when to get the 2nd! |
i have 2 atm, the first one ill probably end up regretting later in life but thats ok i accepted that already and i like it for now. the second one i posted on here and i highly doubt that ill regret that. but yes one will make you want another and another and another. lol and dont listen to anyone.... they hurt like a bitch and anyone who says they dont hurt lied lol. you get used to it after about a min and if you have like a movie to watch youll forget about it

hmm you just have to figure out where you wouldnt mind seeing it for the rest of your life....i have no regrets with mine ....half the time i forget its there until i notice it again or someone's like "you have a tattoo???!!!" i think you should get it craig....just figure out where  |
I agree with them being addictive. I have the Chevy one on my back right now and will probably get another one in March. The second one is going to be a tribal eagle design and either I'm getting it on my shoulder or lower on my tricep with a tribal band surrounding it.
I also agree with getting tattoos that are you or have a special meaning to you. I got the Chevy one because I know I'll always like Chevy, atleast the old ones. It also has some pistons and flames so that's cool. The eagle I want to get symbolizes my Eagle Scout award that I got years ago and it's just going to look cool. As far as watching where you get it because of a job, screw that. I work a desk job in corporate america all day long and I can say there has never been a time I would have had to worry about it. Wear long sleeves for your interviews, which is the proper attire any way. And if you have a dress down day or anything like that wear a long sleeve shirt if you're not comfortable with who you are. Remember almost all offices where you have to dress nice are air conditioned so you can live with long sleeves if you have to. |
Heh....I wouldn't call Craig's future line of work 'corporate america', but his arms will be covered when he's actually 'working'.
I say go for it....not sure where though. - Justin |
i want another tattoo... anyone kno someone who will tattoo 17 year olds? or dont ask for more then one id? for an 18 year old? :-D

I say wait 'till you're 18, if you want one that bad, you'll still want it when you're 18, and then you can go to a reputable artist. Just my $.02 |

Definitely, if you're not sure you're going to like it few years from now, rethink it. Make sure it's something you're not going to get tired of, which is one side of the arguement for putting one on your back, if you don't like it, you never really have to see it :D . I still love the ones I have and can't wait to start the next one  |

Definitely I would rather pay more for better quality. My first tat is on my back, is really nice quality...was done at Body Art World in Seaside (I know, it's Seaside but the quality is very good), my second one on my arm was done at a shop called Il Bacio...something like that...and that tat came out crappy, I'm going to have it redone and added to before I start the next one. I may take a look at The Ink Spot, my ex went to Ron ...of Ron's Tattoo, in Elizabeth for her first two. He was really good, pretty well known in the tattoo world. My goal for the repair work on #2 and for all my future ink work is to find an artist I can keep working with instead of going to different shops or artists in the same shop. Any recommendations are more then welcome! -Ant |
Ant...did you go to Il Baccio in Trenton? That's where I got mine and it came out good.
|
i went to Jersey Devil in Blackwood, they were #1 in south Jersey for like 7 years or somethin like that. the guy my Brother, Dad, and I go to has been doin it for 12 years and is really good.
