Are you only interested in NOS kits, or will any nitrous kit work?

NJ Torque 06-05-2012 08:37 PM

Not too sure if you want to mess with that...

If you are going to do that try and hook up CO2 or something. Spraying N2O for no reason is going to be expensive.

rickyd13 06-05-2012 09:04 PM

if you want i have a 3000psi tank thats for paintball just get it hydro tested it should pass its only about 5 years old its fiber wrapped and all maybe $25 there like 200 new idk if that would work for you

Bad idea. Nitrous requires a permit, costs $5 a pound and is not legal to have hooked up or purged while driving on the road... but whatever floats your boat lol.

Do you seriously need a permit for it? Lol thats stupid.

zraffz 06-07-2012 07:46 PM

Yeah it's easy to get and needs to be renewed every two years. Fill out a form and send a $30ish money order to the state and withing 15 days you get your permit to handle/purchase nitrous. Being a gas it requires some responsibility on the owner's behalf. As the temperature increases the bottle pressure will increase; so do not push your luck with leaving it in a car on a hot day or else it can break the burst valve and fill your car with fumes. Remember to run a blow down tube as well. Make sure you bring a copy of the permit with you when your purchase nitrous for the first time and make sure to keep a copy in the car. In NJ it is illegal to have nitrous hooked up; this doesn't mean you can't have it in the car but you can not have the nitrous line running back towards the motor. I personally would not drive around with the bottle on a normal basis unless I was expecting to do something stupid... and I certainly wouldn't put the bottle in a visible spot because then you'd just be asking for trouble if the wrong person sees it.

This is quite possibly the most ricy thread I have ever read here.

My condolences for your 'friend'.

I was thinking the same thing... most people that have nitrous try to hide it from the rest of the world and use it to haul ass. NOS sells a Neon Light kit for the purge -- now that's sick!!!!!111shift111!11!!!!

NjbadSS 06-09-2012 10:32 PM

Hey man while your friends at it, tell him to get a dummy blower to stick out the hood, now that'd be sick as hell LOL
