im just looking for the specs on a nissan skyline...no clue what year but the body style like in 2fast2furious. i need the hp and tq stuff for a NON GTR engine...the 2.0 straight 6 turbo. thanks.

the R34 GTT (non GTR) has the RB25DET engine, single turbo 2.5L. heres some specs i got:

The R34 (body style youre talking about) didnt have a 2.0, nor did the R33, but the R31 and R32 did.

Thanks but thats not the engine im lookin for. Â*I'm lookin for i think a base skyline engine...its a 2.0 L Straight 6...it has under 200 hp i think.

reason being is a kid at school is swapping this engine into a 240 sx...his car tomorrow will be either next to me or one car down from me on the lifts, but he isnt in my class. Â*hes got the engine/tranny in now, i'm just curious as to how much power he thinks this thing has.

abotu the body...i guess i was wrong...he had the front clip shipped from japan, just 2 dented front fenders along with the entire engine bay all the way back to the fire wall...no headlights or anything...i didnt even realize how long skylines have been around. Â*i suppose it could be any year...definitely a 2.0 straight 6 though.

is it turbo or non turbo? in the body style youre looking for, the GTR has the RB26DETT(2.6 twin turbo), the GTT has the RB25DET (2.5 single turbo), and the base has the RB20E, which is a 2.0 non turbo SOHC, making around 130hp/127tq. Theres also the RB20DE, which is a DOHC variant, making around 155hp/135tq.

If its a 2.0 turbo, theres the RB20DET Red Top, or the Silver top. The colors mean the color of the top of the motor/valve cover.

Red top makes 179hp, 165tq.

Silver top makes 214hp, 193tq.

I'm suprised he didnt swap in an SR20DET. those little 240s can really rip with those turbo four bangers in em.

You know a lot about these things... you a true f-body guy? Can I quiz you on all the powerplants that were avail for the f-body since 67?

yea man helped a lot...it is the turbo 2.0...silver top.

i figured he wouldnt be making very much power. 2 liters in a 6 is kind of lacking in size. I figure nissan strapped a turbo on it so the thing could move.

I dont know why he didnt put an SR20 in it either. probably because of cash issues. he paid 1200 shipped from japan for this skyline engine/tranny + whatever else he needed for the swap...such as electronics and cross member and way bar and what not. i think the biggest problem for it is the right side drive issue...but besides that this thing sticks out probably an inch or 2 over where the hood went...cant be good.

now...beings it is right side drive is he going to have to learn to drive with first all the way to the right and on top? or is the gearing just like it is here?

and red isnt faster...the silver has the higher HP...and all the powerplants, i could name quite a few but probably not all.

I thought that was the SR20DET from a silvia ..
