Lower ET Parts
What kind of parts out on the market can help me lower my ET's? Â*That is besides alot of practice? I figure my MPH is good for low 14's maybe 13's, so the power is there its just not getting to the ground quick enough (my fault).
So far Im thinking - Short Throw Shifter with Lous Short Stick |
You can get a V6 on the cheap these days...

See I already have the car, and I plan to keep it a daily driven car, not a gutted out track whore. |
:owned: get some re-loc brackets and boxed lcas

craig drives his car daily still.
relo brackets, rod ended control arms, a good troque arm, and a small set of drag radials. later tim |
some good tires will make the biggest improvement in quicker times

Shifter, LCA's, tires and torque arm. In that order.

Ignore the guys above me, HAHA
LCA relocation brackets, sticky tires, more horsepower. In that order. The stock LCAs are fine and if anything the compliance in the mushy bushings is good for preventing impact at the tire (kind of like a push rather than a punch). This is why with proper geometry (LCA relocation brackets) and sticky tires the STOCK suspensions hook the best for straight line acceleration. The rod end LCAs are noisy and don't last long but they are great at elimating any binding. As for the torque arm, that's a toss up with me. If you've got the cash then yes, it's a worth while upgrade but you don't NEED it to be cutting good 60's, it's like one of those mods that doesn't really pay for itself unless you have the other stuff done. Sticky tires are the number one upgrade. They are your buffer between your horsepower and the pavement! Sticky tires lower your ET with the best bang for the buck but with the LCA relocation brackets you'll hook with any tire. The last step can be accomplished with some laughing gas if you're on a tight budget. The s.shifter will help make up for your driving skills and is a worthy investment if you're constantly missing the 2-3... but it won't do anything for your launching! |
You guys actually want him to spend money on all those suspension parts just for a low 14 second car? Seems like a real waste of money to me. Sticky tires, sure, LCA's, shocks, torque arms ....waste of money at that ET-level.
