sorry to hear that bro, check the For Sale section of camaroz28.com people are always parting out their cars, hopefully u can pick up what u need

The Fixer 05-26-2005 07:50 PM

You could try PMing SmokingSS here on the 'board. He has parted out a few 4th Gens. I remember seeing silver doors in his garage some time ago, but I have no idea if he still has them now. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if they were Bird or Camaro doors, but it's worth a shot.

misterjuice 05-26-2005 07:56 PM

That sucks man, I have to park my baby outside on the street every night. So far each car Ive owner has been smacked. My old Trans Am, was hit by a retard that lived across the street! He backed out in a rush after an argument and totaly swiped the side of my car, leaving a mark from the gas tank to the drivers side mirror, nocking the mirror out and breaking everything inside of it, but the good ol 80's side mirror stayed put. That heated me up, and the kid never came back to his house since (after I filed a police report). And then not even a few months ago someone smacked my side mirror, and nocked the mirror out of its socket, and put a chip in the mirror holder, so now my mirror doesnt snap or hold into place all the time, if I hit a hard bump, it nocks it out of place.

I hope whoever paints the parts does a good matching job so it looks like nothing ever happened!

that sucks man....

you can also try checking the junkyard on rt. 46, forget what the name of it is though. It's past fairfield.

GI Salvage... they dont know what a 4th gen is there.

LS1Hawk 05-27-2005 05:55 AM

Man, that sucks! To have the car only a few days and someone tries to break in or hits it has got to be drag. I'm always extra careful where I park my Firehawk, but no matter what there's nothing you can really do when something like that happens.

I would say also to check ebay. I know sometimes you can't trust the sellers' word, but a lot of times there'll be a guy parting out a SS or Trans Am that was in an accident ... usually the parts are very cheap. Good luck!

12secondv6 05-27-2005 09:08 AM

Sorry to hear :(

Billy Graham..... TA Creations... are a couple f body salvage yards.

j0n 05-27-2005 10:58 AM

then laugh as he gets thrown thru his own windshield

$2,121!!!!! Â*For a Flippn Door & mirror!

Get the hell out of here, I destroyed the front clip on my camaro, The front 1/4 pannel and bumper were replaced with new OEM pieces and paint matched for $1,200!! My car looks like its never even seen a rocky road before, and many can attest to that.

If your willing to travel into Paterson I can give you an awsome body shop which my neighboor runs who did my work. Awsome job and so far I have yet to find any defects.

Teds89IROC 05-27-2005 05:17 PM

I used to work at a body shop, that sounds about right (including cost of a door) Since they have to paint the door, they will have to blend the whole side of your car. Your fender and 1/4 panel will most likely be re-cleared to match. For your own benefit though, I'd get a couple of more estimates..see what kind of prices shops give you. and BTW, sorry to hear about that..that sucks. One time I came out to my IROC and there was a scratch from the gas filler door all the way to the front fender..luckily I was able to compound/buff it right out.

Asab 05-27-2005 05:32 PM

Hay Yeah Ted its with a new door and total repaint and clearcoat on left side for the blend to be right...He is a little pricey but he is one of the best and he is in paterson on Beckwith Ave lol....Thanks..

Fozzi58 05-28-2005 09:50 PM

How about Camaro Firebird shop in Paterson, just on the ourskirts of clifton. I think its off Crooks ave or something.

Teds89IROC 05-28-2005 09:56 PM

I have camaro firebird shop's number and address if you want. My dad used to own a junkyard/bodyshop in paterson and he dealt with those guys a lot. However, I do know that last time I called them up for interior parts (about a year ago) they didn't have what I was looking for and they told me that they are moving away from domestics and working with imports now because they are more popular.

slasherbarb 05-29-2005 08:09 AM

camaro shop in paterson is ok, but they tend to get pricey...but 2100+ for a door?!?! damn!!! my accident cost 3400 and it was most of the rear end with some frame damage...but parts are expense so i guess its not to hard to believe...anyways, good luck with everything
