Your car might.... but who knows about your tranny and rear!

im gonna get a heavy duty rebuilt 700r4 tranny. The rear end would definatly blow out and it will probably do that no matter how much hp i throw at it over 300.

TH400 is the way to go.
What I did was finally, after getting 2 daily drivers he said OK to the BBC swap.

I wouldn't touch that.....

show him how many other cars have a motor with more power than that all over the internet (that are daily drivers, yet). now, i think the question should be can YOU handle that motor, not can the car handle it... he's probably worried you'll wrap yourself around a pole or come home with pockets full of tickets whenever you go out.
