derek, you have a welder? What kind is it and is it a 110 or a 220? How much was it and where did you get it?

you can pick up a lincoln electric mig which can do FCAW and MIG welding for about $350. You can get it online at sears.com or go to lowes or homedepot. They even have stick welders.

sounds like a possibility. no idea on how much u'd charge me? i just got quoted $75 by speedy muffler, which pissed me off quite a bit since i went to them before i actually put the catback on to ask how much they'd charge to install it, and there was no difference between bolting it in and bolting and welding it in. my mechanic won't have his welder in for like 2 weeks, so i don't know if i'm gonna wait or not. i have to take another look under the car. i need to get a lift, and a garage to put the lift in.

so can anyone give me some numbers so i know i'm not getting screwed? my mechanic said he'd charge me ~$50. he's usually pretty fair, but i'd have to wait a few weeks.
