FYI guys, the car is SUPPOSED to do that. it has an active camber control system that tilts the wheels up to 20 degrees during hard cornering, similar to a motorcycle. it can generate 1.28 G's on the skidpad.

Personally I think that car is just insane! At first I didnt think it is real but thats one fine peice of machinery.

i read some stuff about the computer controlled camber/caster gain systems. they are insane, truely something that i hope works it's way into production applications. it is designed to be a modular system that can work with or independantly of other bosch based traction control systems.
the developers so far claim to have 4 concept vehicles that carry the system but don't expect anything mass production capable(10K+ units a year) for at least 2-3 more years. i am sure one thing that will slow the development is that i can't find a single major racing series that this technology would be legal. these kinds of ideas usually come a long way very wuickly when someone can use them to win a championship :) later tim |
