Chassis Dyno

hey gang,
i am working on getting a dyno to the event.
just need some feedback on what it is worth to you guys. we will likely be running this as a pre-registration thing. so i woudl need a price that you would be willing to commit to at least a month before the show.
i am thinking that $50 for 3 or 4 power pulls is fair. most dyno's have wide band available, perhaps a few more bucks to plug in the tailpipe sensor?

let me know

qwikz28 12-15-2005 08:56 PM

i doubt it will get a good turnout cause we have TTP in march.

NJSPEEDER 12-15-2005 09:07 PM

there was a big demand for it last year, just couldn't get it to come together.
i was thinking that since this will be open to everyone attending the event that it will be a good deal. the march meet is only for club memebrs and i doubt everyone will have their cars done in time for that.
i have started collecting info from different companies. once we know how much it is gonna cost we will be able to get a better idea of how well it will work.

qwikz28 12-15-2005 09:14 PM

thats a good price. i'll be in

bad64chevelle 12-15-2005 09:58 PM

Yeah thats a good price, I would say that I would be in but I doubt I'll still have my Z28 at that point. However I could always bring the Chevelle up and put it on the dyno if that was allowed...

great, now we get to watch that hunk of sex break the damn dyno from all that torque and kill all the fun for the rest of us

bad64chevelle 12-15-2005 10:17 PM

Seriously? Thanks...

EDIT: OK thats not what you had before...

:supergay:

ALLMACK 12-16-2005 07:06 PM

I wonder if the dyno will work on 3.8 v6..will it even register with the H.P. some of you guys have?? LOL
hey seriously sounds like a great plan

Savage_Messiah 12-17-2005 02:01 AM

another 3.8 on board eh? welcome

and you should be fine

jaysz2893 01-03-2006 04:48 PM

Modern Muscle Motosports has a mobile chassis and i dunno if they do wideband 02, also they are more expensive than what you are thinking. A few "local" dyno places are 50 bucks fro 3 pulls and that is on "special days" Average i seen is $75 for 3 pulls with wideband

punisher142 02-06-2006 12:17 PM

i'd hit it

WayFast84 02-08-2006 04:20 PM

I think its a good idea!! If I dont have new heads by dyno day ill probably have them for nats...LOL and 50 bucks is still MAD cheap!

ins0mnia24 04-23-2006 06:13 PM

I'll dyno saturday 100% i want to see what i gain from my H/C switch..

NJSPEEDER 04-23-2006 07:33 PM

we won't be at the track on saturday. at this point a dyno is looking rather unlikely anyway.
they all want depositis that are more than the club can currently afford. :(

ins0mnia24 04-24-2006 12:08 AM

Ah yeah sorry for some reason i kept thinking it was fri,sat and sun,
Damn I'm taking the fri off from work so that i can participate in the Fbody vs stang shoot out so my g/f reserved a room , Island is like 45 miles from Teterboro and hackensack right?? that is gonna suck driving back for sunday,
I spent 3 grand on parts just for that event lol
I'll be buying 2 shirts in the next couple weeks i'll drop some extra $ in as a donation

yeah maybe like 50-60 miles, but about an hour away

qwikz28 04-24-2006 10:06 AM

tim is a dyno really necessary after we had a dyno day a month ago?

NJSPEEDER 04-24-2006 02:43 PM

ins0mnia24, we are going to have activities on saturday too, jsut not at the track. they will be in teh hacketstown area, a few miles from teh track.

qwikz28, having a dyno at an event is a completely different animal. people get really serious and i have even seen a few shows that hand out prizes for the best pulls of the day.
