Solstice Hard Top

Here she is, the hard top. I guess they added the hatch area to make better use of the cargo area, since a hard top would mean that the top is stowed away, decreasing space.

and GM wonders why they can't sell cars... Things hideous

qwikz28 01-03-2006 10:09 PM

i'm in love

NJSPEEDER 01-03-2006 10:09 PM

did they consider making clip on tops? something similar to the miata hard tops.
when i first heard that they were considering a hard top i expected it to be more of the convertable vette/miata style hard top that uses the convertable locking points to mount.

mini station wagon look, very BMW z-coupe'ish. not sure what to make of it.

I agree on the beemer-ishness... can't say I like that sketch though

WayFast84 01-03-2006 10:16 PM

Reminds me of the trans am station wagon

qwikz28 01-03-2006 10:16 PM

nomad edition

GP99GT 01-03-2006 10:20 PM

trashman01 01-03-2006 10:22 PM

maybe if they apply the corvett feather(where its a removeable top and a hatchback? give it that edgy look

79dizZy28 01-03-2006 10:28 PM

I Love the convertable, I like the saturn sky even more, but if thats the Hardtop..that thing is plain stupid and UGLY

LS1Hawk 01-04-2006 05:53 AM

I thought the hard top was going to look similar to the style of the vert. This is just ugly. Doesn't fit with the rest of the lines of the car.

bitchincamaro 01-04-2006 06:57 AM

i think that the car has possible potential, only because i like the M coupes from bmw and that resembles one alot. i would also like to see one in person to cast my final vote. (not that it really matters to anyone anyway, but...)

qwikz28 01-04-2006 09:48 AM

the M coupe had 11" rear tires and huge fender flares. i think it would look wierd without it

BigAls87Z28 01-04-2006 06:03 PM

Apparently the hard top is NOT done by GM, but by an outside company in Germany.

PBodyGT87 01-05-2006 04:41 PM

it looks like that BMW.... which one.... you know the one i'm talking about. I don't know the model, but it's like a Z4 with a hatch.

qwikz28 01-05-2006 04:44 PM

M coupe was the high performance model, otherwise it was called the z3 coupe

Yeah, the M coupe. Thats the one the guys were talking about above this.
I think it adds needed space, and for someone like myself who needs more storage space, I could deffinatly do this. It will also help aerodynamics better then a FRC type design. (Big reason why the Z06 kept the fast back design).
