first ticket

well its about time....first moving violation after 2 1/2 years of driving. i had 3 girls in the camaro and i fishtailed a turn only to look in the rear view and see a cop at the red light, got a ticket for careless driving, annnnd i have an interview with the police in my town for a dispatcher position on monday! i love my luck

the ticket won't be on yoru record until the trial date or whenever you enter a guilty plea. not like a moving violation will effect getting a job with teh police, you have seen how they drive already

best bet is to talk to the cop and see if you cna get it reduced to a non-point ticket. point to yoru perfect driving record, say it was a mistake, say you learned your lesson, and ask if he can give you a fine wihtout points. it may cost a few more bucks up front, but it will keep your insurance from going up.

well if you get the job, talk to your new fellow coworkers, they may help you out.

actually it still gives points on your insurance but shows no points on your license ....dave's an insurance guy...

i hear about insurance points but when i read my insurance information they are never mentioned. i have new jersey manufacturers if that makes any difference.
how do insurance points work?

damn your lucky to have NJM....just one more year without any violations and i'm in.....as far as insurance points you should usually get a print out every year with how many points you have...also if you get a a speeding ticket that's like 5 points....it takes 3 years for them to clear. so regardless, any type of moving violation with points takes 3 years to clear. (according to dave who's an insurance guy)

NJM doesn't do points. They just kick you off.

like State Farm and Allstate kicked me off?

careless is 2 points. you can try to get it knocked down to a unsafe operation which is 0 points. the bad driving COULD affect your position but is unlikely. since it's the first time i doubt it will effect it. It will not show up on your drivers abstract untill it's settled but they will run your name and it will show up that you have a pending ticket.
