thats cool! I need to get my rims polished dont want to do it my self

trashman01 01-08-2006 09:29 PM

not that hard, all i did was use well-worths lift off, becareful as this stuff wil go thru ur skin and burn ya. get some rags, then get a scotchbrite pad and #00, #000, #0000 steel wool, and i used mothers mag/alum. polish. everything ran me a total of 30$ but i didnt get a buffin wheel i did mine by hand. just make sure the well-worth lift off doesnt get on the paint, it will take it right off

i have pictures of the stuff i used, im gonna throw up a how-to page on my cardomain site

WayFast84 01-08-2006 09:36 PM

yeh im worried cause Im sort of a ditz and knowing me Id get it on the paint

trashman01 01-08-2006 09:38 PM

mask off teh paint, take some news paper and tape it around the end of teh spokes

WayFast84 01-08-2006 09:42 PM

Where do i get the steal wool and everything?

Been there, done that, got the tshirt. Problem now is, break dust will virtually destroy the bare aluminum your now left with. Your going to have to clean and polish these wheels every week or two now depending on how much you drive on them. And driving in salt/snow, forget about it.

wax the aluminum after you're done.

OK, good to know that I'm not the only one noticing Alex's blatant ignorance of "there" and "they're"
