aim bug
someone sent me something on aim that makes your messenger go nuts...so dont accept any thing odd from me as far as links & stuff.
Thanks Bill |
Gotcha, I think Phil has it too. He "sent" me the file.
It has Comcast in the name of the link. |
i think i gave it to phil :( i just uninstalled aim & reinstalled it...not sure where to go from there...hopefully it wont affect anyone else. Sorry.
|
usually theres a fix out for those things, you download it and run it and it deletes/replaces whatever files it messes with. try googling whatever the link is, or part of it
|
i got one from phil too but i just deleted it
|
I had the same thing happen to me last week so I downloaded an AIM Fix.
This is the sight i used it worked for me... http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm |
i got it from phil but so far no crazy AIM. I tried jayloden, it ddin't say it found anything, and all my other virus protection software didnt pick anything up either.
|
I got the link from phil and downloaded it just to scan it since it didn't look like the usual AIM virus. came up clear, but I deleted it anyway.
Try copying the file name that it sends and do a :google: search. - Justin |
