so i passed on the 98 trans am

if anyone is interested, i gathered all of the information about it. it's fairly extensively damaged, cosmetically speaking, including: front bumper, front bumper cover, headlight, fog light (both driver's side, the headlight needs a complete housing not just the light), inner fender, outer fender, rocker panel (both sides), and the driver's side floor. when i got to that part, i said that car is pretty much useless to anyone but to part it out.

since i am unable physically, and pretty much unwilling anyway, to part the car out, i told her i'd pass. the only thing i wanted was the drivetrain and what was leftover wouldn't amount to much and there'd be way too much labor involved in stripping it down for me to complete it. if anyone is interested, i can give you her email. know that the car most likely has been deemed totaled by the insurance company, but that is one subject we never touched on. she wants $5900/bo. if someone does decide to part it out, i have dibs on the drivetrain.

was it a manual or auto?

jims69camaro 02-04-2006 05:38 PM

auto

there's a thread with pics titled "attn: fourth gen owners" or something like that that i authored.

Well if I got it I wouldnt part it out!...or If I did Id keep the drivetrain because I have a new dream car! along with the blacked out 2002 trans am and the blacked out c5 this http://www.municipalmechanical.com/ps/hockey1.jpg just the hockey stripe in silver,tt 2's and a ls1 and t-56 I love that red!

Kandied z28! he's on thirdgen and has also been in GMHTP. VERY sweet car. its been painted a bunch of times and its had a few different rims. he cant stay happy with it for too long.

Ian 02-04-2006 10:43 PM

and now that I look closer at the picture, I think those hockey stripes are chopped on the car. it looks better without them anyway.

WayFast84 02-04-2006 10:46 PM

they are chopped, I saw it in the photo chop thread, as well as jims posts(about 8 of um with no reply) but techinically I wouldnt be stealing anyones scheme cause its just a chop...right? and if so then a bumble bee stripe would work too!

Anyway, back to the totalled T/A...

I cant use anything off it, but I'm sure someone here could.

WayFast84 02-04-2006 11:02 PM

but then that means they need to buy the whole car..and get it...I think it was like kansas or something, and if they dont have a trailer...BIG BUCKS

i like pauls third gen better, nicer color and more streetable. both are about equally as clean from what i can see in that pic too

jims69camaro 02-05-2006 10:11 PM

arkansas is where the car is, hijackers.

i don't think a bumble bee stripe would work on a thirdgen with that hi-rise spoiler. it's either be in front of it, stop at the wing or go over the wing. yuck, in any case.
