what to do...what to do...
DISCLAIMER: KASEY CAN NOT POST IN THIS THREAD
allright ladies and gents im in a little bit of a delima and would like some input... as some of you know i got a bike last month and lastweek i got a letter from yamaha saying that they ****ed up in the production of it and the redline is now 16k instead of the previousely stated 17,5k..apparently it has no affect on the performance of it but i have the option of selling it back to them getting everything back including tax, interest, downpayment..bla bla bla or keep it..if i decide to sell it back im going to hook my my car being that im going to get about 5k or so back so here comes the hard part do keep the bike and risk it blowing up because of a possible manufacturing **** up..sell it back and supercharge the bitch or sell it back and get some head/cam combo? |
sell it back and then decide whether you want to do later. maybe buy a new bike later or do something to your car. or save the money ???

stroker motor for the win!
save.. PSH i got the rest of my life to save!! haha ian-that wasnt a choice!
for the supercharger.... mostly cuz its the plan for my car....u can always buy a cheaper used bike (i still have parts of my totaled r6 laying around :P) but anyway my idea is supercharge stock motor.... when the motor goes then build a forged one and then u can up the boost because by then u will be bored of it

buy a 427 forged iron block for 3 grand from the ls1tech gp, then buy a heads cam combo for that motor :P
Heads and Cam FTW!!! Then a SC later...
sell the bike back, get a junkyard 3.8, drop it in the SS
superchargers are boring... h/c doesnt give you enough power... turbo ftw!!!!
:stupid:
sell the bike and turbo up!!! |
So what size motor is it, and how much could you sell it for? And its already been dropped, would they take it back and give you full cost?
i say keep it. Once you really ride, in good weather that is, you'll see what the attraction to bikes is all about. I guess since ive been riding for years im sorta biased to it, but you havent really given it a chance. I admit that by being given the chance to sell it back is a rare opportunity and if there is a engine problem then do it for that reason. but honestly, how often do u think youll put the bike to redline? Obviously you wanted the bike once and got it, dont let one bad experience alter your decision. i say whatever you do, think abotu it a lot, and then make your choice, dotn rely on what every one else thinks you should do.
