Side Exit Exhaust

I recently had my Cut-Out installed in the intermediate pipe right before the rear axle. Im alittle concerned about exhaust temps and the fact that its aimed right at my LCA bracket. I want to run side mounted tip before the rear tire on the Passanger side.

What do you guys think would look better?

3" Angled Turn-Downs (not visible)

Stock "square" Z28 exhaust tip (best clearance, clears car)

3" Slash Cut exhaust tip (Chrome may look dumb)

Im personally leaning towards the square stock tips myself, because they would tuck in better with the body and still get the job done.

Attached is a pic of how it was done on my car. The previous owner had it done by Mufflex and it's super nice, no third tip to attract unwanted attention from cops, other would racers etc....I wouldn't worry about it dumping under the car...the cutout is illegal anyway so don't sweat the discharge location....

That's my 2 cents, but you will love the cutout. Especially at the strip, you pull up all quiet, then in the burnout box you open that puppy up, make the run, then close it coming down the return road and make everyone go :-? WTF.....

Why are you worried about the LCA bracket? I personally wouldnt really care if it was aimed at the bracket. are you worried that the heat might deform the bushing? I dont think the exhaust is hot enough that far down stream to cause any problems like that. I would just leave the cutout the way it is now.

When you mentioned it a while ago I thought it was cool but after seeing the pic I'm not sure. If anything, definitely do a non-visible turndown

Thumbs down on the side exit from me. Just doesn't look right IMO.

I say either leave it alone, or do the turnown. I wouldn't install anything that you could see from the side.

I dont like side exhaust period. I know a guy who has it on his 3rd gen camaro, and he had it on his Elcamino SS. . . I didnt like the way it looked.
Plus i know in PA (im not sure about NJ )but it will fail inspection for side exhaust.
