POS won't start again

This is pissing me off soooo much, I have zero patience for this.

What I know:

Battery fully charged.
Turn key in ignition and fule pump comes on and fuel lines are full.
Purge, master, nitrous etc all work.
Starter was replaced last weekend.
All fuses checked and are fine.
All relays checked and are fine.
No SES codes
All wires checked and rechecked..
Starter checked and rechecked..
No cuts in wires

After starter was replaced car started up beautifully several times.

Now, it won't start.

WTF is it?????

I was planning on leaving at 2:30 today to run... that ******** ain't happening now.

Help, please help.

And no wise cracks

turbo96z28 04-06-2006 11:29 AM

do you have power going to the starter at the solenoid?

12secondv6 04-06-2006 11:40 AM

I can check that.

My electrical skills are weak.

I should have ignition on and I probably need someone here to turn ignition right?

turbo96z28 04-06-2006 11:45 AM

get a test light and another person.

when the key is turned to the crank position, you should have power at the little wire on the starter.

if there's no power there, it's a wiring problem.

if there is power there, the starter is bad.

maroman88 04-06-2006 11:45 AM

ur in the same boat i am....been trying for weeks and still no start

12secondv6 04-06-2006 11:47 AM

Can the starter go bad in under 1 week?

I don't have another person available at this time

jbird99 04-06-2006 11:48 AM

a starter can certainly go bad in a week.

see what you can come up with checking for power at the starter.

i'll check in here again when i get home from work.

12secondv6 04-06-2006 11:54 AM

Thanks, I put a call into my buddy who is racing w/ me today, I told him to get his ass over here.

badzracing 04-06-2006 12:19 PM

Damn, man. Get it fixed. I wanted a friendly grudge race this evening.

12secondv6 04-06-2006 12:26 PM

Sigh, I'm trying.

Posting like mad on my v6 boards... getting lots of advice but no luck so far

badzracing 04-06-2006 12:43 PM

Neutral safety switch problem? If you are sure everything else is working, I can't think of anything else it could be. Is there power to the coil/s? ( forgive me for not remembering what tranny you have) clutch pedal switch? Crank sensor? Just some thoughts on possible problems. I hope you can get her fixed and to the track tonight.

GP99GT 04-06-2006 01:00 PM

yeah could be the neutral safety switch, try turning the key on, going down into gear, then back into park

Already tried

I might just bring the benz down to atco and run that

NJSPEEDER 04-06-2006 01:34 PM

is it cranking at full speed or a little bit slow?
one possibility is that the alternator is going bad. when alts die a lot fo the time they will slowly drain the battery as the car sits.
if you have a jump box or it will start right up with a jump you have found your problem.

F that. Put that matchbox in the trunk of the Benz. I'll fix it just to get a race off with you. If I win, the fix is $50. If you win, it's free.

Squirrel 04-06-2006 02:56 PM

did it feel like it was kickin back when you started it before>?

Tru2Chevy 04-06-2006 03:19 PM

Any luck?

turbo96z28 04-06-2006 05:24 PM

ttt

any luck James????

ShitOnWheels 04-06-2006 06:34 PM

NO, he never got it started. But he went down anyway with Paul and Boon and is racing the Benz.

Ian 04-06-2006 06:42 PM

does it crank at all? If it doesnt, does it at least go "click" when you try to start it? do the interior lights dim when you go to crank it over?

it might be something really off the wall like the ignition cylinder. or it could be a loose connection at the starter. Or like billy said, the starter could have taken a ****.

my guess would be the starter took a poop. Let me see if I have this right. car wouldnt start, replaced starter, car started, car wont start again? if the only thing thats different is the starter, it's probably related to that somehow

I can't answer the first part as I wasn't here. Howver, yes, you have it right. They changed all the wiring for the nitrous sytems, and when finished, car wouldn't start. After a lot of testing he changed the starter, and it started right away, and as far as I know with no problem, and multiple times. Today he goes to start it and it won't start.

misterjuice 04-06-2006 07:34 PM

it doesn't crank at all..........no clicking no nothing.....we had a jump pack on it, and still no crank....POS
