Is a DOT helmet good to pass? Its brand new. The guy at the store told my step pops that they are automaticly snell approved.

no, DOT doesn't mean its automatically snell approved. your step dad got shafted, sorry. if he can return it, do it, the guy at the store either lied to him or had no idea what he was talking about. Look around on the inside of the helmet, under the padding, it needs the snell.

"SAMPLE OF THIS HELMET HAS PASSED THE SNELL STANDARD AND IS SO CERTIFIED." So its snell certified? No number tho. Really small sticker underneath the padding. You can hrdly read it. Ohhh. And on the back besides the big "DOT" right on top of that it says "SNELL approved". Guess i ansered my own question.
