My 02 Hyundai Elantra...

...just rolled 100,000 last night. :) Ok, I guess it's not possible for a digital odometer to "roll" but you know what I mean. Bought it in October of 2001, so not even 5 years old yet. Didn't have the digi with me, so I used my cell to take the pics.

James tried to use my car to jump the bird over the weekend, and while the hood was open, he took a look around. My belt doesn't look like it has 100k miles on it (don't recall it being replaced, but I'll have to check my service records). Gotta do the full tune up tho...air and fuel filters, plugs and wires, and battery are all original from the factory. Might be time to change them ;)

Check engine light did come on tho at about 99930 or so. Gotta get a reader on it, James' doesn't read my car for some reason.

I dunno, the whole rolling 100k was a big deal for me for some reason.

Nope. The only service I've done is oil changes (anywhere between 3000 and 10000 miles in between), and tire changes/rotations. I still get 25 - 28 mpg, about normal for my car.

Damn Genie...even the Lumina gets a new air filter every 30k-40k miles.

My dad's 01 is at 8x,xxx... and i guess its an elantra owner thing to not change the oil for 10k miles, since he's done that too.

dont buy a reader genie, just use the one i have...well actually kasey has it right now but it should work on your car.

Savage_Messiah 04-13-2006 06:49 PM

Autozone does it for free or you can use the one thats in my car right now

NP_00'T/A 04-13-2006 06:50 PM

I can bring mine to the April meet if you want it should read your car.

ShitOnWheels 04-13-2006 06:54 PM

Boon has a reader that we'll probably use. BUt thanks for the offers.

Kasey, my car used to tell me when it was time for an oil change. The tranny would start slipping a lot. As soon as I changed it, it'd stop. I think it gave up. lol

It's just like the lawnmower; if the engine runs, the air cleaner is fine. :)
