1986 Pontiac Trans Am Suggestions....

I have a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am 305ci 5.0 liter TPI w/ Edel Brock Headers, Flowmaster Exhaust, an SLP Intake, and soon to have hooked up NX Nitrous Kit....I have the Edel Brock Intake Runners on back order and haven't heard any updates on my sway bar.....So basically what else can I do? I want to get a new 350 Block and keep the TPI intake system, but I don't know where to get one built(I want a custom 350) and with the nitrous kit....my timming is advanced 22 degrees.....and I figure I'm going to have to run a timming retard ignition box in order not to blow my stock motor.....I mean the motor runs great....I just think it'll be safer with a timming retard.....so does any one have a good suggestion?

Are you gonna be running a dry or wet shot? What jets are you gonna use?

I can help you with your build up and tuning. I have a few 350 cores and all the parts we would need to start with as well. My shop is located in Hulmeville, PA.

Thanks,
Josh

if your gonna run nitrous u probably wanna build a nice forged block, correct? if your gonna go and spend the money on a 350 mine as well get a 383 stroker

I agree, if your gonna go the distance, 383, is the way to go.....8-)

I just found a guy from Keyport that said he'll sell me a bare 350 block then I'll bet it machined to a 383

how much would it cost to drop a 350 or a 383 in?

depends on twhat u you got and would need when i did it to my monte carlo ss it was probably a like 500 bucks 200 for the motor in a smashed car then 300 for a cam and edelbrock intake and probably little odds and ends here and there i did it the ghetto way and it only ran 14.7 it probably would of been alot fatser with a new carb and tune but i was poor in school when i did it but i managed and it was a great learning expeirance and was fun to. disapointing(14.7) but fun lol then a rod started knocking and i sold it hehe
