Hurricane Katrina Flooded Cars

The terrible tradegy left so many displaced and a definate tragic loss for many.... I was wondering if someone could find flood damaged cars from Katrina anywhere on the internet for sale, possibly a brand new car that was underwater for a period of time.

I've seen my fair share of the hurricane cars(I'm an auto damage appraiser). You DO NOT want to get anywhere near those cars. Not only from a mechanical standpoint(salt water and wires don't mix) but from a health standpoint. If the sewage and waste doesn't get to you the tremendous amounts of mold will cause problems(remember A LOT of these cars were sealed up for days and weeks).

we had a few people try tading some of those cars in where I work. definitly not something you want to try and fix up. it'll probably cost more to fix it than it would to buy it new.

hmmmm than what about body parts etc... i haven't seen any of them on ebay?

at first i thought you meant the body parts of the people who died...then I realized you are talking about the automotive body parts.

LOL

Due to the "contamination" most of them will prolly just get tossed in a scrapyard somewhere. After being submerged in saltwater for all that time, there prolly isn't much left that would be worth anything anyway.

:stupid: How ironic wouldn't it be to see a 4th gen Camaro submerged in New Orleans Water *coughcatfishcough*
