Broke ANOTHER rear yesterday

was at our track here and cut a 1.51 60 ft and the rear broke....it was a 1/8th mile track so i ran a 7.52 which with my car would be around a 11.40 in the 1/4..... hopefully ordering the 12 bolt some time this week and should be able to launch the stall at 3800 instead of 2500 cause i was afraid i was gonna break something heres the video of my run b4 it broke

camaroracer1992 05-30-2006 03:33 PM

ford 9 inch is better imo my 7.5 10 bolt was down to 11.3 and still going strong before i replaced it. i believe little g has the gears and posi in his car now ???

Savage_Messiah 05-30-2006 03:35 PM

Yes, but the gears and posi that are in Little G's car were in Joe's '92 first. They took his car to low 11's, and they are still doing great in Craig's rear.

thats about where im at right now.... but everyone tells me the ford 9" slows you down a lil.... and i am putting a spool in it

qwikz28 05-30-2006 05:54 PM

some people are running single digits with 12 bolts. you have an auto so the extra weight will just kill you

12 bolt ftw

35thls1ss19 05-30-2006 09:31 PM

if your goin with a spool you will be fine with a 12 bolt and save on weight

project89 05-30-2006 09:43 PM

dana 60 and never worry about the rear again lol

OneFast383 05-31-2006 08:53 AM

lol at the dana........ i got a price on one with the spool of 1950 + shipping, im still waiting on a few other quotes to get back to me

ChickenLittle 05-31-2006 08:58 AM

i went through 4 10 bolts before switching to the 9" in my 93 Formula M6

i'm gonna go 12 bolt this time around in the 98. good luck with the new rear8)
