OHHHH BOYYYYY someone didnt wanna admit that on this board! lol
you called the FD for that? HAHA if that **** was in my town we woulda fuccccked up your car, atleast chopped your battery cables into lots of little pieces so thered be no chance you could start it again and we'd have to get called back out for another "fire" |
It was in the garage. my cousins are firefighters and they tell me all sorts of storrys, the one that came to mind was, "this guy burned down his garage because his car cought fire" and I have an attached garage, dont give me **** for it either cause Im about pretty unstable right now.

i think your best bet would be to just replace the wires that are damaged with new ones. just cut out the burn ones, solder in some new wire and then heat shrink the solder. i think that would be alot easier than replacing the whole harness.
i dont blame to for calling the fire department. id rather be safe than sorry. |
whose blaming him? i just pointed out he was lucky it wasnt my FD that came lol
|
Painless Wiring?
|
guess your wires arent that sexy now are they matt?
|
nope painless doesnt make anything for carbed thirdgens yet.
|
Yeah just replace the parts of the harness that are burned out, or replace the entire harness if you're unsure what else was damaged.
Unfortunately there's nothing easy about replacing wire harnesses, especially if the parts you need to replace run through the firewall. Also check all the sensors to make sure they weren't damaged in the fire. If so DONT FORGET to put a drain pan below the block before you start yanking sensors. On a third gen, the temp sensor sending unit is (at least on late third gens) on the driver side above the axle, so not easy to get to. Check everything you can. Thats rough you had the fire. At least you don't have to worry about getting a ride to work every day. :) |
matt, this may be your chance to switch over to a regular carb and get rid of the electronic quardajet. you'll most likely have to chnage the distributor as well though, but once thats swapped over, 90% of what lookes to be damaged is no longer used, just an idea.
|
u dont need "lots of wiring" you basically need all new carb wirering...ehh stupid wireing who needs the **** anyway?? cars used to be so damn simple jesus what the hell happened? lol
|
****ing stupid wayfast first the jack now this how about this get ride of the 3rd gen cuz form what we see you have bad luck and start something new like a BMX or Mongoose Have fun
|
:funny:
But on a serious note... get rid of electric. *EDIT* I think ill do the IBTL |
Matt, have you thought about just ditching the ECM and swapping to a non-CC carb?
- Justin PS - Keep it civil up in dis piece.... |
Ive come to 2 conclusions/delema
11sec car daily drive a lt1 camaro swap in a tpi 350 and do mods that will get me gas milage including a t56 swap. I dont want some thing half assed, and I sure as hell dont want it to happen again. |
now that you have two more unrealistic conclusions in mind.....
did you think about just looking at the wiring and seeing if it can be cut/spliced and repaired? |
:stupid:
|
STFU all of you! Im sick of this ****!
