Spun a bearing today. Options for hop-up

Well, I threw a rod today. At first I thought it was a rocker arm that had backed off (I just finished doing them) and it was the pushrod hitting the valvecover. Nope. This is in my 91 TA Vert with a 350 TPI. Full exhaust and thats about it. What ever option I go with, I dont plan to do anymore. This is my nice weather daily driver. Not my race car. What ever I end up doing, I wont do the other (even in the future unless I get a large sum of money somehow).

Options are :
A) Get a stroker kit. Stroke it to a 383, keeping everything else the way it is with the exception of a converter. Converter will be what ever fits the application.

B) Cam, Intake, Converter. The intake will probably be either a carbbed intake (such as the victor jr) converted to FI or the holley stealth ram (most likely the vic). Cam is going to be the LT4 Hotcam (.525 Lift, dont know other specs). Converter will be what ever fits the application.

Personally I am leaning towards option B. The main restriction on the TPI is the intake followed by the peanut cam and then the heads. Option B fixes 2 of the 3 problems, whereas option A just adds more CI.

Go with option B. A converted Vic Jr. with the upgraded cam will help, even if the heads don't flow the greatest. Should be better than a (mostly) stock TPI.

I ammend my vote for B to include B with some head work to match up to the flow potential of the Vic. Jr.

I think I have decided on option C. Take the 1500 I was going to spend and put it towards the olds. I came to the realization that A) I want it on the road ASAP. B) I dont race the car. and C) I just cruise it around. I still may do the converter, but I doubt it.

ls1 or lt1

I'm with Brandon on this one. Drop in an LT1 with ported and polished heads, hot cam kit, add a converter and run low 12s...i mean cruise in style.

I vote for option D: Spend the money on crack and get ta' smokin'!

just do a stock rebuild/setup. i was trying to decide what drivetrain to put in my 88 iroc convert. and i finally decided to take the full TPI setup/trans everything out of my 89 ttop iroc and use all that. That way i can get the 'vert on the road asap, and itll be reliable, a good cruiser, and wont be a complete waste of gas and money, plus i got enough other cars to put money into, which im sure you have too, lol.
