Some INFO you might want to know.....
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.
READ ON-- Why didn't George W. think of this? Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An interesting thought it to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil : Shell............................. 205,742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil: Citgo.......................0 barrels Sunoco...................0 barrels Conoco...................0 barrels Sinclair....................0 barrels BP/Phillips..............0 barrels Hess........................0 barrels ARC0.......................0 barrels All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do. Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next eight days! |
ITS ALL CRAP!!! JESUS ****ING CRIST! BY A BYCYCLE AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT ****ING GAS.
|
and to further prove my point. http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/saudigas.asp
|
here's a quick example why that's crap - BP and Amoco have been merged for yeeeears now
|
:werd: I was just thinking that!
|
i remember that circulating around my freshman year in college, it was around the end of 2001, beginning of 2002. Other than the snopes thing, its outdated.

Ugh. This is such BS.
95% of the gas stations in this state gets gas from one of the few refineries that we have here. My dad's Mobil/Lukoil station gets almost all of it's gas from the Valero refinery. Most of the gas station brands in this country are owned by 3-5 major corporations. - Justin |
last i heard there were 3 main US gas distributors. mobil/lukoil/exxon/etc... , BP/Amoco/etc... , and Hess/etc...

If it were only that easy as not buying gas from certain stations...

there are lukoil only stations already here in NJ, but they dont accept mobil.exxon cards wtf lol then there are also stations Mobil/exxon with signs saying "lukoil coming soon"
|
Lukoil will pwn all. go motherland! i should get a special discount!
|
Lukoil owns *most* Mobil/Exxon stations in NJ and PA. They are switching over the brand names on most of the stations to Lukoil.
- Justin |
yeah theres a **** load of them changing over now.
|

...and that original post in this thread is funny. I guess everyone believes what they read on the internet lol |
Lukoil is a totally independant, publicly traded Russian company. In terms of proven oil reserves, it is second only to Exxon/Mobil. Lukoil acquired Getty to gain a toehold in the US market. They have now purchased the Mobil stations on the east coast (which Exxon/Mobil had already sold to ConocoPhilips).

all this gas **** cracks me up. does anyone actually think that where the gas comes from has anything at all to do with price?
all of the companies listed that don't use saudi oil charge the same at teh pump as those who do, all of the companies using ethanol that costs much less to refine are charging the same as those who don't. they know we have no choice but to buy gas. so they will continue to charge us as much as they can get away with. that is the simple truth of any of product on any shelf in any store you have ever visited. the only difference is that you can't get around buying gas the way you can spending money on designer jeans. |
i forgot to put one more little nugget of knowledge in my post, the companies that don't use arab oil, use south american oil. all of the south american companies and even the good ol' USA are members of OPEC, so all the oil comes out costing the same, no matter where you ship it in from.
|
but there not saying itll lower price i dont think more so that just dont buy from arab oil companies buyers so were not suporting arabs our enimies, suport other companys, i dont wanna give my money to the enemy
|
but the point is, there arent just some companies that buy, basically everyones involved.
|
Yes, Conoco/Phillips and Exxon/Mobil are all part of the same company, but that list says that Conoco/Phillips uses no middle eastern oil, while Exxon/Mobil does.
That takes me back to my previous statement, which is that not every Mobil station gets all of its gas from a Mobil refinery. My dad's Mobil/Lukoil station usually gets their gas from the Valero refinery. They all make deals with each other based on their location, not brand names. - Justin |
