AHHH WHAT

camarokev 06-30-2006 12:45 PM

uhm... no offense to him or his car, but I have a better chance of baggin the Dahm Triplets than he does of getting that price for his car. Crazy crazy mofo.

well he may not actually think he'll get that, but it allows him to have the car advertised and so that he can get offers to see what people actually ARE willing to pay, so far he has 6 offers. yes, most may be very low but 2-3 may be around the true market value. If he had the Buy-it-now at 30k, it may sell right away. whern there may be a buyer out there willing to pay 35k but may never egt to see the auction/sale if its sold quick. So a high BIN lets you test the market a bit. at least that what i think hes doing IMO. OR his wife told him to sell the car and he put that price up, when it doesnt sell, he'll tell her he honestly tried, lol.

Point taken, however there are some wackos out there that have bought weirder things, like a cane for 70K because some kid thought a ghost was tied to it. Anything is possible on ebay. If he can sell it for 80K, good for him! I hope he does too, so we can laugh at the buyer! Then I am throwing my Mustang up there for 50K! haha

NJSPEEDER 06-30-2006 01:42 PM

considering what other rare 3rd gens have gone for recently, that price really isn't that far out of line. the last car built in van nuys sold for 50k a few months ago, a low mileage 1LE went for 46k about a month ago, and i even saw an under 10k mile 88iroc go for 12k locally a few months ago.
the market is coming around to the thridgens because first and second gens have gotten retarded expensive. that just drags the thridgen prices along even more. i would not be shocked to hear that car sold in the 60-70k range at this point. it is very low mileage and very low production, that is the collector car investor's wet dream.

me heart tta's

WayFast84 07-01-2006 02:05 PM

wait.

I thought thirdgens werent worth ****???

if he can get 70k for that car, I could deffinatly pull 4k for my car if I tried hard enough...

ar0ck 07-01-2006 03:07 PM

That is just simply amazing! Theres a sucker born every minute, and if some one wants the car badly enough, they will pay that price.

LuvMyF8LWS6 07-02-2006 08:37 AM

Okay, so I did a little research on this considering I know someone with a TTA... He knows the guy who is selling it and said he throws these things up here to see if he can get some big price for his cars. He has a massive exotic car collection. Maybe down the road, that car will be worth well over 100K, but at the moment it's not. However, it's guaranteed to go up in value everyday.

amargari 07-02-2006 11:48 AM

He would be better off putting on Barrett Jackson.

Frosty 07-02-2006 12:08 PM

He'll get over 40K for it with the right buyer.

NJSPEEDER 07-02-2006 02:55 PM

i am willing to bet that the first offer was well clear of 40k.

bad64chevelle 07-02-2006 03:06 PM

damn thats an impressive number hes just fishing...

not really. for a car liek that you have to hope the right buyer is in the room the second it hits the stage. why give it up to whoever happens to be in one spot for 5 minutes when you can through it online for 10days and let it soak up hits and offers.
jsut look at the number of hits the car is generating. many an investor will look at that and see it as a sign of market interest, raising the potential value of the car.
