Challenger gets green light
i really like the looks of that car, alot actually. i liked the look back in the 70's
i would even look into buying one if it wasn't for one thing--$$$ i'm guessing 30k-35k:scratch: |
eh...good for them i guess, lol, i saw the car in detroit. i guess if you werent into the old ones, this doesnt do anythign special for you. At least this will be yet more push for GM to announce specific plans for a 5th gen camaro.
:w00t: im guessing its gonna be the same weight though huh :?
yea i was reeadin in motor trend its guna be around 4200lbs
According to Motor Trend the Camaro go the go ahead also.
*yawn
another over weight, over priced, poor handling, slow off the line offering from chrysler. |
The Challenger will be a low production car, much like the GTO, and only offer the 5.7 and 6.2. You are looking at 30+k for the 5.7 and then the 6.2 near 40k.
Camaro has been given the green light a while ago. GM lost 10 billion last year, they dont build concepts for the fun of it. GM doesnt announce a lot of the cars they make. Example, Saturn Sky. It just showed up last year, and less then a year later...tadaaaaaa. Same for Saturn Aura. Hell, even the C6. |
Looks nice. A little overweight and I expect it will be overpriced. I wonder how close the production car will be to the show car.
at least they are putting it on a platform that rides well. it will be nice for all those "muscle car" old people who spend all their time talking about teh good old days on their way to the country club. lol
 i love the new chryslers...
I'm excited to see what the production car is going to look like. Whether it's going to be 4,200 lbs, I don't know... but I think it's great they're bringing it back. Fifteen or 20 years ago you could never expect this. Now they'll all be back at the same time: Camaro, Challenger, and GTO.
you knwo it doesn't even look that good
i like how it looks, and the GTO will be history come the end of this year
it'll be history for a year or two then be back, you really are a slow one arent you
and click the ink and look at the picture... its so brick-like (the reaso im not a fan of 3rd gens)... and the headlights are pretty sped-ish... i dunno, to each their own i guess |
It's HOT!!!!!!
Can't wait till they are out!!!! |
alright paris....

look what I realized tonight... in pis it's sorta a stretch, but in person the headlights look nearly identical... http://www.allpar.com/images/autosho...lenger-3-4.jpg http://images.safeform.com/stock/300...SUPER%20V8.JPG |
Now all Chrysler needs to do is bring back AMC, and put out a new Javelin. Then I can die a happy man!
Yeah, GTO is going to be back in 2008. I also read in Motor Trend that all Pontiacs are going to be RWD in the near future which they hope will revive the brand's performance image. Chevy's going to do the same with most of their cars as well.
thats all great news. maybe im just paranoid, but it worries me that the challenger is goin to around for a full year before the camaro comes out. last thing i heard the camaro was slotted for 2009, and the challenger is goin to be an 2008.

You will still need an entry level car, and the Vibe will return with a new GM/Toyota platform. G6 will continue on to Epsilon II, which will have AWD ability as Epsilon will grow a bit in size to be a true mid-sizer and match teh size of the Altima, Accord, and Camry. Oshawa II, where they make the GP and LaCrosse, will close and combine with Oshawa I (Impala/MC) to which Zeta will be built. Zeta will have RWD/AWD ability as well. Now a GTO might not be in the making, but a coupe-like sedan could that would do both. Pontiac is looking at how the Charger is effecting the market, and maybe they could pull off something like that, and maybe latter if there is demand for it, a GTO could be spawned off. But Camaro is a go, Impala is a go, a larger RWD GP replacement is a go, and a large flag ship for Buick is ready, but might be built in low numbers down under. |
