WTF is goin' on in NJ

Man, glad I didn't book a 2-day trip to Atlantic City for some Casino adventures........WTF is with the Gov and his shutdown policy?

Has it hurt you guys, as I have been following the news reports?

maroman88 07-05-2006 10:38 PM

i bought a 91 Z28 and CANT register it!

Dark_Knight7096 07-05-2006 10:38 PM

Well I work for a school that receives funds from the state, we were expecting a 6K dollar check from the state for the month of july to pay for the children coming, to pay employees, and to pay utilities and now we have NO idea when we will be getting that check. I have 2 cousins out of a job right now, my co-workers are addicted to scratch off lotto and they can't play it, and right now, nobody in NJ can buy or take delivery of any guns other than muzzleloaders. NICS, the instant background check that MUST be completed before you can purchase any type of firearm (besides muzzleloaders) is closed down as it is state run.

Firehawk 526 07-05-2006 10:44 PM

Simply F'n amazing the impact......WOW! Guess somebody ain't gettin' re-elected.

97ws6 07-05-2006 10:48 PM

Well he is not the first to do this,i dont think it will hurt us that much, they just waste out tax money, then tax us more.

firehawk1120 07-06-2006 03:12 AM

Don't worry if the casino's stay shut down for long the mafia will make sure this dickhead isn't around too long.

He's ****ing up everything just so he can raise the tax from .06 to .07. Supposedly costing us an extra $300 a year. There is no way that is going to cover the deficit we have. I know when taxes go up I spend less money and I'm sure others do too. It will be a wash, we'll have higher taxes and still lose money. This ****wad should do something like cut their 6 figure salaries and stop paying the D.O.T to fix **** that isn't broken and do it on double overtime christmas eve at 9 pm.

Tsar 07-06-2006 06:04 AM

mehh doesnt affect me in any way...

ShitOnWheels 07-06-2006 06:18 AM

My school is technically not supposed to be working, since the public schools for the disabled are state funded. But we keep on working, and no one has mentioned the possiblity of not getting paid. So we'll see.

johnjzjz 07-06-2006 07:13 AM

it seems funny no one is steping up and defending what he is doing he won buy big left numbers but yet you cant find anyone who voted for him ???? jz

BonzoHansen 07-06-2006 07:20 AM

There is a giant-ego pissing battle being waged in Trenton by a few rich guys that obviously don't care that bunches of 'average' people are being hurt. Because they think they are 'right'.

Dems are realizing that this dolt is screwing them like Florio did. Too late.

JL8Jeff 07-06-2006 07:23 AM

I can't get my 70 SS396 registered or titled. And if they do adopt the 7% tax it will cost me a good chunk more to title the car. I have 6 relatives and 3 friends out of work right now. No governor has shut down the state from what I can remember so this guy is on a power trip already. I can't wait to see what the cost will be for the number of days shut down.

BonzoHansen 07-06-2006 07:29 AM

Corzine is a complete douche, typical uber-paid exec type. He gave up being a US Senator, arguably the best job in the US, because he admitted he didn't like being a small voice in a big room. IMO, he saw this governorship as a way to be the big cheese in a smaller pond, and as a possible stepping stone to the presidency. Screw who he ruins on the way there.

This is going to cost us a fortune.

I voted republican, don't blame me.

LuvMyF8LWS6 07-06-2006 07:35 AM

I found out that if your car is due for inspection by June 30, you're now extended until, July 31st, And if you were due July 31st, you are now automatically extended until August 31st.

Which is great news for me because my truck was due this month!

ChickenLittle 07-06-2006 08:39 AM

doesn't help me...I was working so much, I couldn't install my cats and now even if I do, I can't inspect my car...teh pink card flew out the window last week, lol. it was due a while back (12/05 i think) but took teh car off teh road, then I put it back on 2 months ago when my Chicken died....

Meanwhile, I can't put my Chicken back on the road in the event I fix it!

Your right it isnt going to cover the deficit its a step in the right direction...something the state CANT say has happened in the past 10 years. As far as you spending less money, your going to tell me your gonna go to Lowe's and not spend the $50 avg because of the extra 50 cents you'll have to pay at the check out counter? Bring an f'n coin purse.

I have 3 people which I need to hire RIGHT NOW, but cant because I cant get DMV Driving Records. I need techs and salespeople, but cannot get them in. More time passes, the higher chance they go look for another job.

WayFast84 07-06-2006 09:27 AM

Why Is it shut?

Im sorry I didnt realize anything like this was happining till today.

BigAls87Z28 07-06-2006 09:35 AM

The state cannot reach a decission on a new budget, so the Gov has shut down the state to, I guess, focus the attention on the budget so that its the only thing to worry about. This whole state is ****ed up, from local municipality all the way to the top.

slugger27nj 07-06-2006 09:44 AM

Schmuckface Corzine is legally obligated to shut the state down because the NJ's constitution states that the state cannot spend any money unless a budget is in place at the start of the fiscal year. This includes payroll, govt. services, etc.
