Man, make the 2 door a camaro & firebird, and make a poor's man's cts-v for the gto (although I am sure the purists would cry about 4 doors).

shane27 07-28-2006 07:22 AM

4 doors is :gay:

slugger27nj 07-28-2006 07:40 AM

It would by nice if that was actually from GM, but that's just a GMI rendition of what they would like to see. I would like to see it, too (with only 2 doors of course).

where is everyone seeing 4-doors? did i miss something. Looks like it has potential. I'm probably looking to buy a new sports/muscle car and with all these new cars coming out....things are looking good.

Wait till you have a family…you can’t shove kids in the back of a Camaro. Not everyday.

The Cadillac CTS-V is a 4-door, that was my reference.

Well, it looks pretty good. I wouldn't be mad if they came out with a 4-door version, just definately keep a 2-door version too. Then everyone is happy.

actually kids fir perfect in there.
however when our whole family goes out ( 3 peeps ) my mom always sits in the back and me and my step dad sit in the front so i guess it would kinda suck.

Yeah, they could call the 4-door a Tempest and make the coupe a GTO. Bring back the names people know, not a letter followed by a number!

There was a Buick or an Olds that had a similar backend didn't it? That forward slope in the rear looks familiar.

Yes, the Olds Aurora had that kind of look

Yeah, I'll stand by my statment, maybe adding the word 'normal' family. Dragging kids in & out of the back of a 2 door is a PITA. Forget if it is an infant in a carry seat. And last I looked, unless you are a friggin midget, the fronts seats of an f-body almost touch the back seats.

At best case scenario, the interior would take way too much abuse from all the climbing over the seats.

Come on GM, make me an affordable (sub $30k) LSx 6-speed CTS-V!

70's 'Cuda much?

Koll 07-28-2006 05:52 PM

I know its a rendering from GMI.
Hence the TEASER

Affordable Caddy...and a V model?
Maybe if you are used to spending 80k for a 500hp M5 or E55, a 50-60k CTS-V with 500hp would be more "affordable" but the only way you are gunna see a CTS-V for under 30k is a used one.
Now a 400hp RWD sedan for around 30k from another GM division...well... :)

When I would have the 5-point seats in the rear of the IROC I had the girls at day care laughing when I would have to take off the T-tops and lower the twins through the roof into the back seat.

I'm grown up now. Until the kids are bigger I need a 4-door car which is why my options are limited and why the Charger is my best option. I want a sedan that doesn't look like cheap GM car that can seat three kids safely in the back.

It is all about the buyer demographics. If I wanted to get into a d*ck size competition everytime I drove somewhere there are plenty of fast cars. But I need something that is more than just speed. I need utility as well. I'm not going to drop $25 - $35k on a daily driver my kids can't get in and out of.
