WildBillyT 08-01-2006 07:13 AM

Do you mean Detroit Truetrac?

qwikz28 08-01-2006 09:47 AM

no personal or factual knowledge basis but i heard there is better

Savage_Messiah 08-01-2006 04:52 PM

I don't see why you'd want a locker (truetrac is a locker, right??)

A truetrac is a gear type limited slip differential.

You want a locker for a car that sees street and strip use but will burn up a posi.

Savage_Messiah 08-01-2006 05:36 PM

Right, his car is a daily driver v6, not gonna mandate a locker and a locker would just be a PITA with driveability in his case, it was more of a personally-directed question as opposed to a broad, any-sitation question.

But with it being a gear type, that doesn't matter at all now does it

Doh.

You got me there.

If it's just a sixer I'm sure a take-off Zexel Torsen or even an Auburn would be up to the task.

Savage_Messiah 08-01-2006 07:51 PM

I dunno about that, I have had my share of bad luck with take-offs

project89 08-02-2006 12:08 AM

anything is better then an auburn, even in a v6 an auburn wont last long depnding on how u drive, ive gone threw 2 auburns in the last year

84HOtransam 08-02-2006 04:11 PM

ive got one in my 9in...although its not daily driven it has seen street and track use...i have no complaints...its not noisy,it hasnt burned up after 4k rpm clutch dumps, and the car hooks and launches straight...

NJSPEEDER 08-02-2006 05:15 PM

lockers = crap [/thread]

198esp1 08-02-2006 11:12 PM

torsen t2r that is all

Bandit 08-14-2006 08:15 PM

Street Strip - Auburn Race or Eaton

Auto X street - T2r

qwikz28 08-14-2006 08:37 PM

whats the deal with torsen t2rs with drag racing? do they lock up when theres a big torque load?

Auburn and Eaton clutch system are better for the drag strip vs the gears of the t2r.

I run Auburns, but the eaton is nice because you can rebuild them.
