Good steel paint?
 

Im gonna be re-doing my billet grill, cuz the black fillings kinda faded to a light gray, and wanna look into a really good gloss/satin black ... what brands of spray canned paint shall I look into? Thanks

i have always had good success with rustoleum products. there are a bunch of gloss black parts on my car that i used their paint on.

word clean ur grill real good first.

and if the rustoleum doesnt work try black wheel paint because it could prolly stand up to more

once you get the black laid down and lookin good go over teh whole thing with a can of their clear. it is good stuff. it will protect teh black paint from chipping and make dirt and bug guts easier to wipe off. :)

If you want me to paint it with a regular automotive black with a spray guy let me know. It will be a lot more durable than rattle can. If you rattle can it clean it to bare metal first and shoot it with etching primer which is available in a rattle can also.

Do you speak of experience? Im not 14 years old, I know how to paint and how to prep.

Thanks Tim + Paul, Im just gonna rattle-can it for now... itll look a hellova lot better than faded gray. Ive always been partial to rustoleum, but I figured there was another brand out there thatll do the trick a little better.

As far as rattle can stuff goes, I've had great luck with Rustoleum's professional line. I think it has more solids or something like that (can't remember) but it goes on nice and stays that way.
