http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._promot_widget
anyone hear of em or know anyone whos got em? thanks |
I've never seen that manifold before so I cant tell you if its any good or not. It does look like those runner extensions would act as silencers though, but hey what do I know, I'm no CAD engineer.

you should be able to find a used ls6 for much cheaper & with known results...thats a knock off bbk/weiand intake from the looks of it so who knows.

heatsoak ftl
|
personally id be weary of it since its not proven... id personally just go with a ls6 intake or save up for a fast 90/90

the upside to having a metal intake is that you can port it. the downside is that it will retain heat much better than the molded plastic GM and certain aftermarket pieces.
|
cool, ill prob end up getting the fast intake then
|
GM is coming out with a 90mm intake and 90mm TB that comes with 30 lb injectors and fuel rails for under 500 bucks. you might want to hold out for that.

not sure. I read in hotrod or popular hot rodding about the intake stuff.

I wouldn't worry too much about heat soak with the aluminum intakes. We did some testing on them at the shop and the tarck and there is no discernible loss of power over the composite intake. Heat soak only becomes an issue when the car isn't moving or driving slowly. The intake moves the air so fast it doesn't heat up much at higher speeds. Don't get me wrong, there is a slight difference but it is so little just get an intake that you like and flows the numbers that you need. Another common myth we dispanded was the 90 MM intake on anything cam only or less. On the dyno it did make more peak HP on a cam only car by 3 over a 78MM, but the loss in torque and the fact the peak HP was so high I think a 78MM car would stomp it at the track. In the end you have to decide what you want to do. Personally I don't think you need a 90MM until you hit around the 475-500 RWH range or go with a big dispalcement engine.

I'm just telling you what we observed from testing both intakes first hand on the same days, it is going to vary depending on the car and the mods to the engine.

edit: i stand corrected. he was being sarcastic when i was talking to him. sorry for the confusion.

don't go wasting money on an upgraded intake unless you plan to do a head and cam package. for now jsut do a lid, slp or fast toys ram air, and get that foff tune we were talking about.
