Where's the heat?

Dam, it got cold last night! :cold: It was 48 here in Ewing and my house is like an icebox right now! It was 51 Friday night and it's supposed to be 51 again tonight. Gotta love it for August. The 396 was diggin the cooler air yesterday too.

WayFast84 08-13-2006 11:54 AM

This is my kind of weather!

JL8Jeff 08-13-2006 09:01 PM

It wasn't even hot enough on the river to jump in and cool off today. It's already down to 60 so it looks like it will be cold again tonight! Just think of all the energy people can save by turning off their AC! Oh wait, nobody pays attention to the weather and everyone still has their AC on. :-( We didn't even have to waste electricity last night by running window fans it was so cool. The 15 day forecast looks like a lot of the same weather except for tomorrow which will be a little warmer.

Brando56894 08-13-2006 09:13 PM

it was quite the cold one last night, i went outside around 10 and was like damn its cold out!

camaro2you 08-13-2006 10:42 PM

NP_00'T/A 08-13-2006 11:56 PM

bad64chevelle 08-13-2006 11:58 PM

just went out to close the windows in the truck and I must say its a bit nippy out there. I love it though! *Waits for winter so he can go out and play in the snow with 4wd again*

JL8Jeff 08-14-2006 07:24 AM

Yup, 48 degrees again last night. This is great!

BonzoHansen 08-14-2006 09:19 AM

I am beginning to think your thermometer is reading low. Lows 50s in Hamilton last night. Plus, when every one I saw had us over 100* a few weeks ago, you had us at 96 or something. I think you are playing mental games with your wife. :)

Tsar 08-14-2006 09:20 AM

its 73 degrees in my house now...

JL8Jeff 08-14-2006 09:32 AM

My house was in the upper 60's when I left for work this morning. We have a thermometer that records the high and low temp each day. And I just put new batteries in it a week ago! And what's a wife?

The 96 was the high reading by the NWS at Trenton when you saw 100 in the Hopewell area. Most of those thermometers get exposed to some sunlight so they read a little higher than the actual temp.

I had my AC switched onto fan mode last night, so that helped nature a little bit. If I was able to have an open window with my A/C installed, I would have just done that....

Yeah, yeah, likely story. Of course it is hotter in the sun, but that temperature doesn't count? :)

I thought you were married. No wonder you can buy cars.

central air FTW. AC only kicks in when temperature inside the house reaches a certain point or it just works until 10pm or any other time i specify  whichever one i choose.

firehawk1120 08-14-2006 11:32 AM

had my window A/C on 67 degrees and it was beautiful.

for the geeks:
the amd 64x2 is sittin at 114*F with the fan at 2220rpm. the temp is kinda high prolly cuz im messin with vmware. i had it down to 89* once :mrgrwwn:

JL8Jeff 08-15-2006 07:24 AM

Please don't tell me you leave your computer running 24/7 unless it's being used as a web server. There's no reason to leave a computer running espcially if you're not in the house. It wastes energy by running, puts out heat which you then waste more energy by running AC to cool! :knock: Seriously, did they teach any of you kids anything about energy conservation in school? It sure doesn't sound like it.

I only keep one of my computers running 24/7. Although it doesn't host this site, there is plenty of info. on it that I like having 24/7 access too. I used to keep both of my desktops running all the time (Click here for normal uptime), but I don't use the second PC as much anymore.
