That's not good, that's for sure! I hope you pulled that off the stock head/cam combo, and not after you fired up the new one!

deadtrend1 08-27-2006 09:37 PM

nah, don't worry .. thats factory......gm puts 2 of those on each cylinder incase stuff like that happens

camaro2you 08-27-2006 09:44 PM

ya u must of broke the spare one, but nah did it run good before this happen?

iamsickofitall 08-27-2006 10:49 PM

just slide it back in and fire her up...just don't hold me responsible for what happens afterwards

on a more serious note - i hope that is from you old valvetrain setup

FTW right there!

Alex, what's the word, is that from before or after?

Tru2Chevy 08-28-2006 10:50 AM

If it was after, I'm guessing someone forgot how to set valve lash.....

Nah Im just messing with you guys!

Ted and I put it in a vice and slammed it with a hammer to scare everyone!

The motor came apart rather clean, and the engine looks to be in tip top shape under the 10 years of dirt & oil. So far we only found a small head gasket leak as predicted but it didn't do any damage to the motor itself.

IF ANYONE HAS EVER INSTALLED A CAM AND WANT'S TO SUPERVISE, MULTIPLE BRAINS ARE ALL WELCOMED TO STOP BY AND HELP!!!!!

Hopefully I get this one stubborn bolt out tommorow, and find another missing bolt & with a help from everyone we will be starting the re-built and hopefully provided the computer comes back in time I will be firing it up unless someone has a spare 95 core to run it untuned.
