Launching at 5,000rpm in a completely STOCK A4 wtf?
 

so yeah this kid i know is tellin me that he launches his completely stock 91 IROC Z A4 at 5,000 rpm. wtf?? i told him theres no way, i know the car, i raced him before and smoked him with my 3rd gen RS. only way i could think was he would use a HUGE stall converter or a transbrake? I think he's bull****ting me lol. werent the tachometers in the 3rd gens prone to be off too?

3rd gen tachs were kown to be off a bit, usually only 200-300 rpm though. a transbrake also will only let you go to the stall speed of the TC, not beyond.
sounds like some smacked ass who read half of something in the internet and thought it was good enough to impress people by saying it was in his car.

someone got a little carried away he might have launched at that rpm in his dreams lol
